The Aces could be without their M'VP once again tonight. While Las Vegas is heavily favored, expect a gritty Chicago Sky squad to keep the home team on its toes.

The Chicago Sky embark on a four-game road trip starting Friday night in Vegas – the same team that ended their current homestand by handing them a loss.

Vegas has owned Chicago of late, winning nine of the last 10, but they could very well be down an MVP candidate as A’ja Wilson deals with an ankle injury.

That hasn’t deterred the books though, who have Vegas as nearly a double-digit favorite in the back end of this home and home set.

My Sky vs. Aces predictions & WNBA picks has a Vegas win, but Chicago keeping this one close enough to cover on Friday, July 3.

Sky vs Aces prediction

Sky vs Aces best bet: Sky +9.5 (-115)

A'ja Wilson missed the Commissioner's Cup Championship and is questionable Friday against the Chicago Sky.

With the Sky near the bottom of the standings, the Las Vegas Aces have little reason to rush its star back, making limited minutes, or another DNP a possibility.

Without the league's leading scorer and fourth-leading rebounder, the Aces are less equipped to cover a big spread.

Chicago is 5-2-0 against the spread vs. Vegas in the last seven, including a June 28 cover despite Wilson's 30-point, 15-rebound performance.

The Aces are 0-6-0 ATS in games Wilson missed the last three seasons.

So I’ll take Chicago and the points down to 8.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Sky have yet to stabilize since losing prized offseason pickup Rickea Jackson for the year to a torn ACL in just their fourth game of the season. Chicago had just moved to 3-1 with a big win over the current league-leading Lynx, but have gone 3-12 since.

Sky vs Aces same-game parlay

Kamilla Cardoso has been among the bright spots in a rather dismal start to the year for Chicago. She’s coming off a 24-point, eight rebound night against Vegas last game – her highest scoring output against the Aces in her career.

Cardoso has scored at least 14 points in three of her last five vs Chicago, missing the Over in one game by a single point.

Jackie Young has already shown the Sky the damage she can do. In that June 28 meeting, Young lit the Sky up for 28 points on 9-for-14 shooting from the field. She’s also coming off a season-best 31 points against the Liberty.

With Wilson compromised, a 19.5 scoring line seems like light work for the Aces’ second-leading scorer.
