The Minnesota Lynx are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the WNBA, and they’ll put that record to the test when they face the Phoenix Mercury.

Despite Minnesota All-Star Napheesa Collier being a late addition to the injury report, my Lynx vs. Mercury predictions expect the reigning DPOY to suit up and lead Minnesota to a comfortable victory.

Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Friday, May 30.

Lynx vs Mercury predictions

My Lynx vs Mercury best bet: Minnesota Lynx -3.5 (-108 at FanDuel)

The Minnesota Lynx were one blown call away from winning the 2024 WNBA championship.

Their unhappy 2024 ending has placed a chip on the Lynx's shoulders; they are one of two unbeaten teams in the WNBA, and slim road favorites tonight when they visit the 5-1 Phoenix Mercury.

Minnesota opened as -4.5 favorites, but reports that Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier might miss tonight’s clash have moved the number to -3.5, and we’ll attack that number.

The Lynx starters boast the league's second-best +/- (+8.1), which spikes to a league-leading +7.2 in the second half. That’s because lurking behind Collier’s crew are four reserves, providing Minnesota with 19+ minutes of experienced action, which allows for strong second-half finishes.

Phoenix may allow the fewest points per night (74), but four of the five teams it has faced are in the bottom four offensively. The Lynx starters boast too much experience, and, due to their depth, will be fresh as daisies on both ends of the floor during the final 20 minutes.

The Mercury will provide a stiff test for a while, but the Lynx's depth and experience should allow for a comfortable victory.

Lynx vs Mercury same-game parlay (SGP)

Minnesota -3.5

Under 158.5

Minnesota 4Q moneyline

I like the Lynx to cover the spread, based primarily on their strong finishes, which is why our three-leg SGP correlates so well.

Minnesota’s league-best second-half +7.2 (+/-), driven by a deep cast of reserves, is why they have fresh, solid finishes and why they’ll win the 4th quarter.

It’s the Lynx defense that will keep the final score Under the game total. Minnesota backs shooters off the line well (33%) but holds teams to 26% shooting from downtown during the final 20 minutes.
