Drake Maye exited the AFC Championship less than 100% healthy, but there is little indication his availability for Super Bowl LX is in real jeopardy.
New England head coach Mike Vrabel addressed Maye’s status Tuesday on WEEI Boston’s The Greg Hill Show, confirming his quarterback finished the win over Denver banged up — while also downplaying the concern.
#Patriots HC Mike Vrabel on whether Drake Maye is 100% healthy:
— Carlos A. Lopez (@LosTalksPats) January 27, 2026
“There’s not a player on our team that’s 100% healthy.”
“I would imagine we’ll go through the injury report and whenever we have to turn that in, we’ll turn it in… This’ll be our 21st game.”

With Super Bowl LX not until Sunday, February 8, how does Maye's injury impact the NFL odds ahead of his meeting with the Seattle Seahawks in the big game?
Is Drake May playing in Super Bowl LX?
Barring a surprise development on the injury report, yes.
Drake Maye finished the Broncos game after taking a hit to his right shoulder from Talanoa Hufanga following a 13-yard scramble late in the third quarter. He remained in the game, continued throwing without visible limitation, and now benefits from the longest rest window he’s had all postseason.

Drake Maye's season-to-date performance
In three postseason games, Maye's performance has been on course with what we saw all season long. We've seen the good (five total touchdowns, including 141 rushing yards), and we've seen some of the bad (two interceptions and a lost fumble).
Nonetheless, Maye is still in complete control of the New England Patriots' offense and was first in completion percentage and passing yards per attempt, among others.
Who do I bet on if Drake Maye doesn't play?
This is where the drop-off is real.
If Maye were ruled out — again, unlikely — New England would turn to backup Joshua Dobbs. Dobbs has completed just 7 of 10 passes for 65 yards this season and has not started a game in 2024.
While he does have 15 career starts, none have come in a Super Bowl environment, and the Patriots’ offensive structure is built specifically around Maye’s arm talent and mobility.
A Dobbs start would:
- Trigger an immediate line move toward Seattle
- Push the full-game total downward
- Deflate Patriots passing props across the board
This would no longer be the same offense sportsbooks have priced all postseason.
