The loss of size for the Mercury sets the table for Washington forward Kiki Iriafen to have a night on the boards. She’s cleaning the glass in recent showings, pulling down double-digit boards in each of the past three games. The 6-foot-3 Iriafen will find herself in mismatches with small foes, allowing her to track down defensive rebounds and battle for offensive misses. Thirteen of her 36 total rebounds in the last three games have come on the offensive glass. Projections call for 11 rebounds from Iriafen tonight.
Natasha Mack o8.5 Points Scored (+100)
The Phoenix Mercury will play their remaining games without veteran forward DeWanna Bonner, who was released Monday. That leaves a gap in Phoenix’s starting five, giving reserve center Natasha Mack an opportunity to log extra work in the home stretch of the schedule. Her action has been tempered since returning on July 19, dipping from 25 minutes to 17 minutes per game over her last 11 outings. Her scoring has slimmed from 9.2 points to six points in that span. With Bonner gone, Mack picks up the slack. Phoenix will need her size against the Washington Mystics interior, as the lineup shrinks considerably beyond the 6-foot-4 center. Given Mack’s uptick in floor time, my projections call for 9+ points versus Washington
