The Seattle Sounders will meet Inter Miami for just the second time ever tonight, as the teams face off in the Leagues Cup final at Lumen Field.
Lionel Messi made his first appearance in the competition to help lead his side past Orlando City in the semifinals. Now they make the cross-country trek to Seattle, where the Sounders are unbeaten in their last nine matches at home.

My Seattle Sounders vs Inter Miami best bet: Both teams to score + Over 2.5 (-125 at bet365)
Inter Miami yet again left things late against Orlando City to reach the final, as Lionel Messi’s 88th-minute goal and Telasco Segovia’s stoppage-time tally sent them through with a 3-1 victory.
Late goals and some good fortune have been the keys to their success. A pair of penalties, the latter coming in the 89th minute, saw them sneak past Tigres in the quarterfinal. And their win over Atlas in the opening match of the competition saw a 96th-minute winner stealing all three points.
All five of their Leagues Cup matches have scoring in common. Neither team has kept a clean sheet in any of the matches, and we’ve seen no fewer than three goals scored. While their opponent has kept two straight clean sheets in the competition, it’s hard to see that happening here.
Seattle have scored two or more goals in four of their five matches, including a 2-0 win over LA Galaxy in the semifinals. They needed penalties after a scoreless draw to get past Puebla in the round prior.
The Sounders have conceded just two goals in the tournament, but they’ve yet to face an attack like Miami’s. They’ll also be without right back Nouhou Tolo, who was sent off against the Galaxy.
Messi and Suarez will cause problems for the Seattle defense, while the Sounders are going to find chances against Miami’s back line. The Herons are making the extremely long journey from South Florida to the Pacific Northwest after playing Wednesday night, and that will mean heavy legs for some.
Both teams have scored exactly 12 goals in their five games, and I’m backing goals, even if we have to wait until the final minutes yet again.

Inter Miami’s five Leagues Cup matches have featured a total of 18 goals, with 12 coming in second halves. Seattle’s opening match saw them win 7-0, with every goal coming after the break, and four of five matches have seen more scored after halftime.
With this being a final, we'll see more open play in the second half as both teams leave it all on the pitch, going for the win. Fatigue from the long journey will also take its toll on Miami’s defense as the match nears its conclusion.
Osaze de Rosario has enjoyed the Leagues Cup, scoring in three of his five appearances despite starting just twice. He’s averaging nearly five shots, including 2.4 efforts on target, per 90 minutes in the competition. The tall forward presents matchup issues for the defense and will be Seattle’s best scoring threat.
