The latest Wrexham plot twist has the Red Dragons still looking for their first league win of the season after a big-spending summer, and there’s urgency in the air ahead of Saturday’s trip to Millwall.

These teams arrive on the heels of Carabao Cup victories in midweek, and my Millwall vs. Wrexham predictions expect chances at both ends, with the attackers getting the upper hand at The Den.

Read on for my free betting picks ahead of this August 30 clash.

EFL Championship predictions for Millwall vs Wrexham

My Millwall vs Wrexham best bet: Both teams to score — Yes (-120 at bet365)

After three straight promotions, Wrexham are still finding their feet in the Championship – but they haven’t had any issues finding the net, with five goals across their three league outings and three more in the cup this week.

Not to be outdone, Millwall have scored in four of their five games so far this season, and they tallied 17 shots in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

Given what we’ve seen from these teams, the BTTS prop stands out as a value pick, and that’s been a winning ticket in all five of Wrexham’s contests this month. In fact, the Red Dragons’ past four games have featured two or more goals for both teams.

The visitors haven’t registered a clean sheet yet this season, so it’s natural to focus on the firepower in both attacks, with Kieffer Moore scoring three times in his last two outings for Wrexham and six different players netting for Millwall.

While Nathan Broadhead is still settling into the Red Dragons’ starting lineup, in place of the injured Josh Windass, the Lions will likely turn to Mihailo Ivanovic and Josh Coburn to lead the line here.

It’s too soon to be worried about Wrexham’s staying power in the Championship, and I see Phil Parkinson’s men starting on the front foot this weekend. Just don’t count on Millwall taking a step back either.

Millwall vs Wrexham same-game parlay (SGP)

Both teams to score — Yes

Mihailo Ivanovic to score or assist

Millwall to receive the most cards

Ivanovic provided the assist for Luke Cundle’s winner last weekend, and he’ll test a Wrexham defense that’s looked far from assured in recent weeks, headlined by the collapse against Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday. The Serbian striker bagged 12 league goals for the Lions during the 2024/25 campaign, and he’s well placed for another goal contribution here.

I’ll also take Millwall to end up with the most cards. The hosts have received nine yellow cards through three league contests, while the Red Dragons only have two so far.
