The biggest game of this week in the Premier League comes on Monday with Newcastle and Liverpool facing off at St James’ Park with bad blood between both teams.

With Liverpool chasing Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, there has been huge frustration at St James’ Park, and the atmosphere should be electric. Sadly for Newcastle fans, our Newcastle vs. Liverpool predictions expect Isak’s suitors to pick up the three points and continue their winning start to the season.

Read on for my Premier League picks for Monday, August 25, with kickoff at 3:00 p.m. ET on USA Network.

Premier League predictions for Newcastle vs Liverpool

My Newcastle vs Liverpool best bet:  Liverpool to win (+100 at bet365)

Alexander Isak’s name is overshadowing this game, but in truth, it’s a marquee matchup even without the added drama. These are two of the Premier League’s best teams, with Liverpool the reigning champions and Newcastle in fifth place last season.

Liverpool’s title defense started with three points, but their defensive fragility looked a concern.
However, that doesn’t matter when you can outscore teams with ease, and Liverpool’s attack truly is frightening.

Does Liverpool really even need Isak?

It’s debatable given the quality in their ranks, and new signing Hugo Ekiteke had a superb debut. Liverpool had 19 shots in their opener, with 10 on target, and managed four goals overall.

There’s such talent in attacking positions here, and that’s not even factoring in that their other big signing, Florian Wirtz, didn’t look his best. With Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo on either flank, they have players who can not only transition the ball but also finish attacks.

There are a lot of goals in Arne Slot’s team and they should take all three points at St James’ Park on Monday.

Newcastle vs Liverpool same-game parlay (SGP)

Liverpool to win

Both Teams to Score

Hugo Ekitike to score

There’s a lot to like about our Same-Game Parlay for Newcastle vs Liverpool. As well as the best bet above, we’re also backing both teams to score.

While Newcastle didn’t offer much going forward in their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, there were real concerns for Liverpool, who gave up two goals to Bournemouth and looked diabolical defensively at times. The home side should be able to get on the scoresheet here, even without Isak in the team.

To finish off this SGP, we’re backing the striker that Liverpool actually did sign this summer, Hugo Ekiteke, to score. The former Frankfurt man scored the first goal in last week's win and impressed with his running and positioning. He can keep his goalscoring run going here.
