Premier League Matchday 33 Picks: Vardy Strikes Again

Jamie Vardy hasn't kept up last year's torrid goal-scoring pace, but he's been doing most of his damage on the road and is a solid value against Crystal Palace

It's far too late to impact the top of the English Premier League standings, but Liverpool are starting to look more like their old selves – and that could spell trouble for their future opponents in EPL betting action.

The defending Premier League champions carry a four-game unbeaten streak into a stretched-out Matchday 33 schedule, injecting themselves squarely in the conversation for one of England's automatic Champions League berths.

With the competition for those spots heating up, here are our top Premier League picks and predictions for Matchday 33:

Premier League predictions for Matchday 33

Arsenal vs Everton

These two clubs were in the Champions League conversation a few weeks ago, but rough stretches have all but knocked them out of contention for postseason soccer. Eighth-place Everton (+300) have gone five matches without a victory while picking up just three points in that span – and they're underdogs vs. a host Arsenal side (-110) that has one win in the last four games.

There isn't much separating the teams. Everton have three more points in the standings, while Arsenal have scored one more goal and allowed four fewer tallies. They've also split their previous five meetings overall, with each team owning two wins and a draw over that span. Everton are on a three-draw streak – and we like the chances of that trend continuing Friday.

PICK: Draw (+260)

Liverpool vs Newcastle United

Can Premier League bettors buy into Liverpool's late-season charge? That will be a popular question heading into Saturday's home date with a Newcastle team that is also finishing strong. The visitors (+900) have won consecutive games to take themselves out of the relegation danger zone, though they're still massive underdogs Saturday vs. Liverpool (-400).

It has been 26 years since Newcastle picked up three points at Anfield – and with Liverpool being able to focus exclusively on securing a Champions League spot, we don't see that streak ending Saturday. Look for the hosts to bounce back nicely from a draw with Leeds last time out, winning this one comfortably to strengthen their chances of a Top-4 finish.

PICK: Liverpool -1 (-138)

Leeds vs Manchester United

What will we see from Manchester United the rest of the way? While it appears that Ole Gunnar Solskjær's club isn't quite ready to concede the Premier League crown, it looks to be a foregone conclusion that rival Man City will capture the title comfortably. Man United (-125) are favored Sunday, but this one could get interesting with host Leeds (+290) playing inspired soccer of late.

This game features two Top-8 offenses at work, and Leeds have plenty of confidence after playing Liverpool to a 1-1 draw last time out. We're not ready to predict an upset here, but we can see both sides generating plenty of scoring chances and converting them in a game Manchester City will ultimately win. Take the visitors and the Over.

PICK: Manchester United/Over 2.5 (+160)

Leicester vs Crystal Palace

Leicester have seen their third-place cushion vanish as they host Crystal Palace in the lone Monday match. And while they're happy to have qualified for the FA Cup final with a 1-0 triumph over Southampton last weekend, Leicester (-225) can ill afford any more defeats over the rest of their domestic schedule – particularly against a league minnow like Palace (+900).

Look for the hosts to lean on the scoring prowess of striker Jamie Vardy, who has 12 goals in 24 appearances entering Thursday's encounter with West Brom. Vardy hasn't scored in his previous two meetings with Palace and has done far more damage on the road (nine goals) than at home (three) – but he's the most skilled player in this game and comes at a decent price.

PICK: Jamie Vardy anytime goal (-138)
