Newcastle and Leeds collide today at St. James' Park at 3:15 p.m. ET on Peacock.

Newcastle's ambitions ahead of this season stood high, but they have been inconsistent on too many occasions.

They can't waste the three points vs. Leeds at home to complete a series of three wins in a row, and bid for a Champions League seat at the conclusion of the campaign.

Read on for my Newcastle vs. Leeds predictions and free betting picks for Wednesday, January 7.

Premier League predictions for Newcastle vs Leeds

My Newcastle vs Leeds best bet: Newcastle moneyline (-147 at Sports Interaction)

Newcastle have won their last two Premier League games, last winning more in succession in April 2025, when they stopped the streak at five. At home, the Magpies are unbeaten in seven league games, scoring exactly twice in each of these seven fixtures.

The last promoted team to beat Newcastle at St. James' Park in the Premier League was Leeds in January 2021 (2-1). Since then, Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 13 home league matches against promoted sides. They even won their last five in a row.

Leeds have drawn their last three away league matches, but haven’t drawn four in a row on the road since a run of six, stretched between August and October 1998.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has never lost a Premier League match versus Leeds in four games, and I strongly believe he will keep his record safe this time as well. I'll take Sports Interactive's -147 for a Newcastle win on Wednesday evening.

Newcastle vs Leeds same-game parlay (SGP)

Newcastle moneyline

Harvey Barnes 1+ shots on target

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 1+ shots on target

Nick Woltemade 1+ shots on target

Over 3.5 cards

Since he started out in the Premier League, Newcastle's Harvey Barnes has netted his joint-most goals against Leeds United (six). He found the net in six of his eight starts against Leeds, so I'm not leaving him out of my parlay.

Not omitting Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin either. He has scored six goals against Newcastle in the Premier League. Crystal Palace is the only opponent against whom he scored more times.

To get my SGP return to a decent +775, I'm also counting on Newcastle's star signing of the season, Nick Woltemade, to deliver. He sent 11 shots on target in the Premier League so far, I'm counting on another one against Leeds.

Given that it's a very busy time for Premier League players, with loads of tension involved, there should be context for contacts in this clash. Michael Salisbury, the referee chosen for this game, has a card average of 4.86 per game and I'll finish up my parlay with a bet on over 3.5 cards at St. James'.
