Wednesday night will see the MLS All-Stars host the Liga MX All-Stars in an exhibition match in Charlotte.
Lionel Messi has opted out of the contest for the second straight year, but there will still be plenty of firepower on display for the MLS side.
That’s why my MLS All-Stars vs. Liga MX All-Stars predictions and free betting picks are backing them to claim victory as favorites.

Who will win MLS All-Stars vs Liga MX All-Stars: MLS All-Stars (+127)
The MLS All-Star team will not have Lionel Messi or Sebastian Berhalter at their disposal. The Argentine forward is getting much-needed rest after a World Cup run, while the American midfielder completed a move on Tuesday to Middlesbrough.
As a result, the MLS side is fetching a better price than normal, and I’m here to take advantage of it.
At the end of the day, this MLS squad still has better overall talent than their Liga MX counterparts. A key reason for that is the number of withdrawals they’ve had from their side, led by Mexican starlet Gilberto Mora.
The Liga MX side also lacks a true goalscoring threat. That’s one thing MLS won’t be without.
This MLS All-Star side can send out Thomas Muller, Petar Musa, Son Heung-min, Sam Surridge, and Hany Mukhtar, just to name a few. The number of goal creators this side has compared to Liga MX’s depleted roster is mouth-watering.
Were the Liga MX team at full strength, this would be a much more competitive match. Their defections have left them very vulnerable to a rout, and I’m backing the MLS players all day down to +100
MLS All-Stars vs Liga MX All-Stars Over/Under pick: Under 4.5 (+117)
With that said, I’m not backing a massively high-scoring affair.
I honestly struggle to see where the Liga MX roster is going to contribute to the inflated 4.5-goal total for this match. The forwards on their roster lack consistent productivity, and the loss of Mora robs them of their primary chance-creator.
On the flip side, Liga MX has three members of the Mexican national team that saw major minutes at the 2026 World Cup, all of whom operate primarily at the defensive end.
Additionally, we’re likely to see plenty of substitutions in this match. That typically leads to a disruption of flow and cohesion, especially among players who aren’t familiar with playing together.
This is the fifth time the MLS All-Star game has followed this format, and only one of those contests saw five goals scored. Liga MX fell 3-1 last year, and Mora scored their only goal.
Expect another contest that goes south of the total, which I’m backing down to +105.
