Jackson Blake has been one of the best players on the ice in the third round, but hasn't had the results to show for it. My Hurricanes vs. Canadiens props and NHL picks expect that to change in Game 4.

Be sure to read our full Hurricanes vs. Canadiens predictions for Wednesday, May 27.

Game 4 Prop #1: Lane Hutson Over 1.5 blocked shots (-180)

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Lane Hutson has blocked at least three shots in five consecutive games against the Carolina Hurricanes, dating back to the regular season.

He’s taken it up a notch further in this series, blocking 13 shots through three games.

Carolina is dominating play to an unbelievable extent and generating shots in bulk as a result. They are averaging 73.49 shot attempts per 60 minutes in the third round, most of any team.

Hutson is playing more than anybody, leading to fantastic block volume that should continue in Game 4. Playable to -200.

Game 4 Prop #2: Noah Dobson Over 1.5 shots (+110)

Noah Dobson is one of the few Montreal Canadiens making things happen. He leads the team in shot attempts and scoring chances at 5-on-5, activating whenever he can to create an extra layer of offense.

Only four of his 18 attempts have gotten to the net, but that number should regress as the sample size grows. While it’s more difficult to get shots through in the playoffs, his on-target rate of 22.22% in this series is barely half of his season average (43.86%).

I’m backing him to start finding some gaps and see value up to -115.

Game 4 Prop #3: Jackson Blake Over 0.5 points (-115)

Jackson Blake is not getting what he’s putting in. The Hurricanes have generated 4.23 expected goals during his minutes, yet scored only once in that time.

Blake has been heavily involved in creating them, sitting tied for second in high-danger chances and first in rebounds created.

Alongside Taylor Hall and Logan Stankoven, his unit is severely tilting the ice at 5-on-5 while also getting power-play time.

Rod Brind ‘Amour has rewarded Blake for his strong performance, giving him more ice than any other Hurricanes forward. Expect that to lead to production in Game 3. Playable to -130.
