You get by with a little help from your friends. That has been particularly true for Mark Stone, who leads the Golden Knights in points and assists. Against the injury-depleted Devils, Stone will capitalize once more and be a key cog in tonight's game.

The Vegas Golden Knights kick off a four-game road trip tonight with a battle against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center.

Vegas has won three games in a row against tougher opponents after being in a bit of a rut for a few weeks. The Golden Knights went 4-9-0 in their previous 13 games before this three-game streak.

On the other side, the Devils are still in a rut of their own. They're 2-4-1 over the last two weeks following a 5-1-0 stretch and are narrow home favorites in the NHL odds.

Can the Golden Knights stay hot as they hit the road? Read on for our Golden Knights vs. Devils NHL picks and predictions on Monday, January 22.

Golden Knights vs Devils predictions

The Vegas Golden Knights and New Jersey Devils are both battling through some injuries over the past few weeks. Jack Eichel, Shea Theodore, William Karlsson, and Adin Hill headline the list of Vegas absences while New Jersey is without Jack Hughes, Ondrej Palat, and Jonas Siegenthaler, among others.

It’s safe to say that the Golden Knights have had more success while playing without a few key pieces. They’re still rolling while the Devils have struggled at multiple times this season due to injuries. Most recently, Vegas overcame a 2-0 third-period deficit in its last win against the Penguins.

"We were going down that path after the second of another shutout, which has happened a lot to us where we didn't have enough pushback when it was necessary," Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. "I liked our push, and we kept pushing.

"We didn't sit back on our heels. I liked our whole mentality. You need that every once in a while. It keeps the momentum rolling. It could be games you look at later and say, ‘It could springboard into the next game or stretch.'"

One of the Golden Knights stars who is still healthy is Mark Stone. He's one of five Golden Knights players who hasn't missed a game this season and is leading the way with 47 points, including 32 assists, in 46 games. Since November 28th, Stone has 29 points (10 goals, 19 assists) in 24 games while being held off the scoresheet in just four of those contests.

The odds for Stone to record a point are a bit high at -210, though, so we’re going to focus on assists. Stone has an assist in four of his last five games, six of his last eight, and seven of his last 10 contests.

My best bet: Mark Stone to record an assist (-105 at DraftKings)

Golden Knights vs Devils same-game parlay

Mark Stone to record a point

Golden Knights moneyline

We’re counting on  Stone to record an assist for our best bet, and we’re using him to record a point as the main leg of our parlay. Stone has a point in 26 of 36 games since the start of November, including in 20 of the last 24.

The offense should run through Stone even more with Eichel out, and that’s rung true during his five-game point streak.

We’re then going to take the Golden Knights to get the win. Vegas has been finding ways to win without its top two centers while New Jersey has fully felt the effects of its injuries. Quite frankly, the Golden Knights are the better team both overall and recently, so getting them at an underdog price feels like a steal, even on the road.

Golden Knights vs Devils moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Golden Knights are slight road underdogs between +100 and +105 across the board. In turn, the New Jersey Devils are between -120 and -126 favorites at home.

The Devils opened with odds more in the -150 to -170 range at some books before money came in on the visitors to shorten the line considerably.

The total is set at a flat six with Over 6 (-112) and Under 6 (-105). It's a tale of two totals, though, as the Golden Knights have skewed toward the Under (14-26-0 O/U) while the Devils have more consistently played to the Over (24-12-1). That said, before cashing the Over in its last game, New Jersey had tallied four consecutive Unders.
