Latest NFL Week 1 injury updates
Updated at 2:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
- Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins expected to practice and play: Chase went down with what at first appeared to be a devastating knee injury toward the end of training camp. But regular breathing soon resumed for all involved, and he seems to be functioning just fine after practicing earlier this week. Both Chase and Higgins, who was navigating a heel issue, are trending toward playing.
- Malik Nabers seems ready: A knee injury cut Nabers' season short last year. Giants head coach John Harbaugh wouldn't fully commit to playing him in Week 1, but said "I think he's ready to go." He practiced in full on Wednesday.
- Jonathan Brooks is limited: Brooks has been trying to put a groin issue behind him, but he's still practicing in a limited capacity. An absence or limitation this week would lead to more opportunities for Chuba Hubbard.
