My approach to survivor pools is to keep it simple early on and let everyone else shoot themselves in the foot.
I don’t get cute in the first few weeks, which is why I’m taking the L.A. Chargers to beat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.
The Bolts are big faves at home and I’m not overly concerned about burning them this early, given their future value down the road. The Chargers don’t have many layups, so I’ll use them here to avoid getting bounced in Week 1.

Don't get cute in Week 1. The Chargers are the biggest favorite of the week; they enter the season healthy and have a serious coaching operation that won't allow them to play down to the pathetic Cardinals in the season opener at home.

This is the healthiest this veteran Steelers’ roster will be all season, so they don't have much future value. There's not need to worry about QB Aaron Rodgers needing to learn new head coach Mike McCarthy’s system either, as the two worked together for years with the Green Bay Packers and won a Super Bowl. The Atlanta Falcons also had one of the worst offseasons in recent memory and might be starting a third-string quarterback if Tua Tagovailoa can't go in Week 1.
