The Seattle Seahawks are the biggest surprise in the NFC this season, running out to a 5-2 start while bringing bettors along for the ride (5-2 ATS).

Seattle crosses the country for a primetime pairing with the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football in Week 9, and I like the road team’s chances.

Here are my best Seahawks vs. Commanders predictions and NFL picks for November 2.

Seahawks vs Commanders prediction

Seahawks vs Commanders Best bet: Seahawks -3 (-110)

The Seattle Seahawks opened as big as -3.5 for this trip to D.C., not only holding a sizable rest advantage but also waiting for word on Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels was expected to return from a hamstring injury in Week 9 after missing last Monday’s meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. Once the team confirmed he would practice in full later in the week, that spread slimmed to a clean field goal.

But while Daniels will be under center on Sunday Night Football, his top target won’t. Receiver Terry McLaurin reaggravated his quads injury on Monday and will not suit up against the Seahawks.

Considering the competition, that’s a sizable loss to this offense. Seattle is among the defensive boogeymen this season, with the stop unit really taking shape in MacDonald’s second season with the Seahawks.

They enter Week 9 sitting among the Top 10 in many of the “crown jewel” analytics, including No. 3 in Defensive DVOA at FTN. The heart of this group has been the defensive line, which is cooking up “Instant Pot” levels of pass pressure. Seattle ranks sixth in pressure rate and among the leaders in hurries, QB hits, and sacks.

All of that chaos is coming despite MacDonald dialing up the blitz at one of the lowest rates in the land. That allows for some tricky coverage schemes, dropping linebackers into the passing lanes for a defense running one of the highest rates of zone coverage.

Those defensive ingredients will turn the stomach of Daniels. Not only is he having to deal with that pass pressure on a bum leg, but according to PFF, his output tanks when under duress — especially when facing pressure from just a four-man rush.

Just figuring out the Seahawks' stop unit will be challenging enough for Kliff Kingsbury. Dan Quinn also has to solve a Seattle offense that’s been just as effective as its defensive counterpart in 2025.

It all seems too much for a Washington team to prep for on a short week. A field goal isn’t enough, so I’ll gladly lay -3 with the visiting Seahawks.

Seahawks vs Commanders SNF same-game parlay

On top of that dominating defense, the Seahawks have a high-flying offense. Seattle has connected for 27 passing plays of 20-plus yards, while Washington’s secondary has surrendered the fifth-most “home run” balls.

Zach Charbonnet has the weapon of choice in the red zone for the Seahawks. He scored two TDs against Houston in Week 7.

With McLaurin out, Deebo Samuel is the top option for Daniels. His projections sit as high as 73 yards receiving on SNF, facing an old foe from his 49ers days.

Our big-ticket SGP: Deebo Dive

The Seahawks can beat up on a soft Commanders’ run stop with a two-headed monster at running back. Charbonnet has five touchdowns on the season.

Samuel can pick up extra gains against a Seahawks defense that gives up a lot of YAC (9th most). Deebo can find paydirt through the air or on the ground.
