Panthers vs Browns prediction: Panthers -2.5
Even at -2.5, I still prefer the Panthers. If the probability goes much higher—to 55%, or the moneyline probability drops, I'd consider taking the points back and going straight up.
The Panthers' defense responded to a brutal week one blowout by keeping the league's leading rusher, Bijan Robinson, in check last week. They'll face a Browns offense that has scored only 33 points in two weeks, ranking in the bottom 10 in the NFL.
Linebacker Devin Lloyd had a career day against Atlanta with two interceptions and a pick-six. He'll defend the flats against Deshaun Watson, who lived on short dump-offs in last week's win.
On the other side of the ball, the Carolina offense is second in the NFL in scoring through two weeks.
COVERS INTEL: Once a "play it safe" quarterback, the Panthers' Bryce Young has opened it up this season. Young leads the NFL in touchdown passes and is in the top three in yardage, yards per attempt, and depth of target. More than 15% of his attempts have been 20 yards downfield, which is more than double his rate last season.

The total has climbed by a point this week, but the Over still looks playable. No one has slowed Young and the Panthers' offense, while Cleveland should find early success on the ground.
Watson may have a tougher time against Carolina's veteran defense. The Browns are starting two rookies on the offensive line and feature two rookie receivers, while Jaelan Phillips has recorded a sack in each game.
With Jaycee Horn and Michael Jackson covering KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, Watson could be forced into quick decisions and a costly turnover under pressure.

Panthers vs Browns touchdown scorer: Darren Waller
Receivers Xavier Legette (knee) and Jalen Coker (ankle) were both on the Panthers injury report this week. Defenses have been focusing on 2025 rookie-of-the-year candidate Tetairoa McMillen.
That leaves tight end Darren Waller, who had two touchdowns last week, as a top candidate for Young to find. Waller's six touchdowns with Miami last year would have ranked second on Carolina, behind McMillen, and he had another touchdown wiped out by a penalty in the opening week this season.
