It’s Christmas Day, and we’re looking forward to unwrapping some exciting NFL action with the Detroit Lions at the Minnesota Vikings.

We’re breaking down the two players most likely to score in the game, one on the Detroit offense and one on the Minnesota offense.

Read on for my Lions vs. Vikings anytime touchdown picks for Christmas Day.

Lions anytime touchdown pick

David Montgomery (+140 at bet365)

Over the past couple of seasons, we’ve seen Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery form a lethal one-two punch, but this season it has started to feel like Gibbs has really become the star of the show.

His workload has dropped as the season has progressed, but that should change here. Over the past month, Gibbs hasn’t shown the efficiency we’re used to, as evidenced by his 2.9 yards per carry average over the past four games.

So, with Gibbs looking a little out of form, and this coming on a short week, will we see Montgomery back in favor?

Despite being used less, he’s still scored in three of the Detroit Lions' past four games, and with a potential increase in role, that’s only looking more likely for him to find the paint against the Minnesota Vikings

Vikings anytime touchdown pick

Josh Oliver (+600 at bet365)

The value play in this game has to be backing Vikings tight end Josh Oliver to find the end zone at big odds.

He’s scored four times this season and had six red zone targets, but has primarily played second string behind T.J. Hockenson. Despite being the obvious second option behind Hockenson, he’s actually outscored him by a single TD.

Add in the fact that Hockenson appeared on the injury report this week and has yet to log a practice, and things are looking bright for Oliver.

The Lions have allowed seven touchdowns to tight ends in 15 games, and with Oliver potentially seeing a lot of work, his odds offer real value at this point.
