The Jacksonville Jaguars hope to improve on their road performances when they travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Cardinals have lost seven of their last eight, including two straight by at least 19 points, making me lean toward the Jags.

Read on for my early Jaguars vs. Cardinals predictions and NFL picks for Sunday, November 23.

Jaguars vs Cardinals predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Jaguars vs Cardinals spread pick: Jaguars -2.5

Liam Coen has stressed the need to get the run game more involved, and the Jacksonville Jaguars got things going on the ground against the Chargers. Travis Etienne Jr. and Bhayshul Tuten both topped 70 yards and found paydirt as the Jags rushed for 192 yards on 47 carries in the blowout win.

The Arizona Cardinals are struggling to stop the run of late. Christian McCaffrey ran for 81 yards this weekend, picking up over six a carry. Last week, it was the Seahawks going for 198 yards on 46 attempts, with Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III both having strong outings.

The Jaguars are expected to get Brian Thomas Jr. back from injury, and Jakobi Meyers proved to be an important weapon for Trevor Lawrence in Week 11. Jacksonville knows the wins need to keep coming in order to make the playoffs, and the offense stepped up big time against the Chargers.

Add in the inability of the Cardinals to take care of the football, and this should be a game where the Jaguars cover the number. Jacksonville is one of the best teams in the NFL at capitalizing on miscues this season, and Jacoby Brissett and company have coughed up the ball five times over the past two games.

Jacksonville has only been favored three times prior this season, and the Jags have covered twice with a push. I like that trend to continue here.

Early Jaguars vs Cardinals total pick: Over 47.5

I’m leaning Over in this one, with a total currently at 47.5 points. The Over is 5-1 in Arizona’s last six, and it’s 4-0 in Jacksonville’s away games this season.

The commitment to the run will help keep the Jaguars moving down the field, and will open things up for Lawrence in the play-action game. They’ll also find success against a Cardinal defense ranked 28th in red-zone scoring.

Jacksonville held Los Angeles to just six points in large part due to its pass rush. The Jags notched a pressure rate of 50% against one of the worst pass-protection units in the NFL.

The Cardinals rank 23rd in sack rate allowed, but are still posting solid passing numbers. Jacksonville’s pass defense has been torched at times, ranking 26th in passing yards allowed this season.

Arizona’s offense ranks fifth in converting on third down, and 11th in completion rate. Jacksonville is also one of the worst in the league at preventing points inside the red zone, and the Cardinals should capitalize on their quality drives.
