College Football Parlay Picks for Week 2: Cash In With Colorado in Homecoming Game

Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes are the big story so far this college football season. Our college football betting picks believe there's still value to be had in backing the Buffaloes in Week 2, and that tops our parlay plays for the weekend.

It’s Week 2 of the college football season, and we’ve already got enough storylines for an entire year. But there was one headline that rose above them all last weekend: Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes.

The college football odds may eventually overreact to what’s happening at Colorado, but it looks like we can still cash in on the preseason doubt that Deion Sanders would turn the program around. I’m also looking at two schools better known for producing journalists than football players for a parlay this weekend.

Keep reading to see where I’m putting my money in my best college football parlay picks for Week 2.

Best college football parlay Week 2

Western Michigan/Syracuse Under 57.5

Northwestern moneyline

In recent years, it’s been hard to pin down what the Syracuse Orange will be ahead of each season. Will we get a team that nearly wins the ACC like the one that showed up in 2018, or the 1-10 debacle of 2020? The truth is usually somewhere in the middle, and while a blistering 65-0 win over the Colgate Raiders doesn’t make the Orange a College Football Playoff hopeful, it probably sets them up for a solid season.

Syracuse will get a bit more resistance this week in the form of the Western Michigan Broncos. The main game line has the Orange as a 24-point favorite, which is far too tall for my liking. However, the total of 57.5 points is way too high, so I’m taking the Under.

Syracuse excels on defense, and it won’t be able to repeat its offensive explosion against a Western Michigan team that can at least compete with it.

The Northwestern Wildcats didn’t impress in their opener, losing 24-7 to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. However, the frequent Big Ten basement dweller has a real chance to get its first win of the year on Saturday as the Wildcats host the UTEP Miners.

So far this year, UTEP has a three-point road loss to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, as well as a 28-14 win over the Incarnate Word Cardinals. I shouldn’t have to say this, but Northwestern is significantly better than Incarnate Word, which managed to keep the game tied at halftime against the Miners.

The Wildcats aren’t great, but their talent will show over four quarters. Northwestern is the pick to win straight up.

Over 59.5

Shedeur Sanders 300+ Passing Yards

Colorado is back, baby! Okay, that’s a bit of an overreaction. The Buffaloes will need to play defense if they want to keep winning games, and the TCU Horned Frogs team they beat doesn’t come close to resembling the team that reached last year’s national championship game.

Still, I think we need to acknowledge that Coach Prime added a ton of talent through the transfer portal. That doesn’t just mean star players, either. It includes dozens of three-star recruits, who have given Colorado the talent and depth it needs to at least compete against solid competition.

That brings us up to this week’s game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska is coming off a three-point loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and now has to face a confident Colorado team on the road. This is a game that the Buffaloes should win outright.

We can also expect a lot of points. It’s only been one game, but right now, Colorado looks like a team that can score, but can’t do much to stop their opponents in return despite the best efforts of Travis Hunter. I love the Over at 59.5 points here, even with Nebraska’s preference for low-scoring affairs.

Finally, let’s back quarterback Shedeur Sanders to get at least 300 yards through the air. Coach Sanders is going to want to air the ball out in this game, which should mean big numbers for his son. I won’t be on Colorado all season long, but this seems like a great opportunity to back the Buffaloes offense for an SGP.
