Prop pick #1: Caden Pinnick Over 171.5 passing yards
First-year Washington State quarterback Caden Pinnick transferred from UC Davis, which is an FCS school in the Big Sky Conference.
Pinnick led the Big Sky in passing efficiency and threw the second-most touchdowns (32) while averaging 267.2 passing yards per game last season.
Since the Cougars are +23 road underdogs, they'll most likely be in a “trailing game state,” increasing their need to throw.
That said, there are two outs for Pinnick’s Over cashing: 1. He has a good game, or 2. Wazzu is getting blown out, and Pinnick goes Over his number in garbage time vs. Washington’s second-stringers.
Prop pick #2: Quaid Carr Over 64.5 rushing yards
According to college football analyst Phil Steele, Washington’s offensive line will be a candidate for the Joe Moore Award for the country’s best blocking unit and has four returning starters.
Last season, the Huskies ranked 13th nationally in rushing success rate, per GameOnPaper.com. Washington QB Desmond Williams Jr. is a dual-threat pivot who ran for the second-most yards on the team last year.
Huskies running back Quaid Carr is a first-year starter who might get additional carries in a lopsided game. Carr could have a high usage rate, helping prevent Williams from taking unnecessary hits if Washington has the game under control.
Prop pick #3: Christian Moss Under 48.5 receiving yards
This aligns with my aforementioned game script of Washington pulling away early against its in-state rival. Hence, there's a good chance the Huskies won't drop back to pass much in the second half and will rest their starters.
Furthermore, Washington wideout Christian Moss transferred from Kennesaw State this offseason, and he might need time to gel with Williams. Wazzu's defense also ranked 19th in the country in yards per dropback allowed last season.
