Missouri vs Auburn Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight — College Football Week 8

Beau Pribula has thrown multiple touchdown passes in three of his five games this season, including last week against a stout Alabama defense. The Missouri quarterback is poised to find success through the air once again against Auburn.

Whose stripes will shine brighter as the Auburn Tigers host the Missouri Tigers in an SEC showdown between two teams hungry for a conference win?

Missouri is looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season in a tight battle with Alabama, while Auburn enters on a three-game skid—despite not allowing more than 24 points in any of those contests.

My Missouri vs. Auburn predictions and college football picks have found a great play for what should be a tight SEC clash, set to go on Saturday, October 18.

Missouri vs Auburn prediction

Missouri vs Auburn best bet: Beau Pribula Over 1.5 touchdown passes (+198)

The Missouri Tigers lost for the first time last week, dropping a 27-24 decision to Alabama at home. The loss puts Mizzou at 5-1, but avoiding a losing streak won’t be easy, even against an Auburn Tigers team that has lost three in a row.

War Eagle lost consecutive one-score games at Oklahoma and Texas A&M before losing 20-10 to Georgia last time out. Auburn has given up just 20 points per game during this losing streak.

That said, Auburn has had some issues slowing down opposing passing attacks, ranking 59th in success rate on dropbacks. That creates an opportunity to back Missouri QB Beau Pribula with a player prop this weekend.

Pribula is one of the big reasons why Missouri has gotten off to such a strong start this season. He’s thrown for 1,365 yards while completing nearly 73% of his passes with 11 going for touchdowns.

Now, I expect this matchup to be a tough one, particularly at a raucous Jordan-Hare Stadium, but if Missouri wants to get back in the win column, their scores must come through the air, because Auburn gives up so little on the ground.

Pribula has a touchdown passes prop sitting at a normal 1.5, but the Over is priced at +198. At almost 2/1, I can’t pass on Pribula to toss a couple of scores, which he’s done in four of his six games, including last week against a strong Alabama defense.

Missouri vs Auburn same-game parlay

While I like Pribula to toss a couple of scores in this game, a lot of that is based on price and not necessarily because I think Missouri will win.

In fact, the price has me on the other side of the moneyline. Auburn has battled hard in each of the last three losses against some of the best competition the SEC has to offer.

Now, it's at home and should control the tempo. Missouri will struggle rushing the football, while Auburn, with its combo of QB Jackson Arnold and RB Jeremiah Cobb, finds success on the ground.

That means I like the value with Auburn on the moneyline as a short home underdog, with Cobb finding the end zone for the fifth time this season.

Missouri vs Auburn SGP

  • Pribula Over 1.5 TD passes
  • Auburn moneyline
  • Jeremiah Cobb anytime TD

Our deep-ball SGP: Norfleet of foot

Let's take Norfleet to be the recipient of one of those Pribula TD passes. The big-bodied tight end is Pribula's favorite red-zone target, already scoring five touchdowns.

Missouri vs Auburn SGP

  • Pribula Over 1.5 TD passes
  • Auburn moneyline
  • Jeremiah Cobb anytime TD
  • Brett Norfleet anytime TD

Missouri vs Auburn game predictions

Missouri vs Auburn moneyline prediction

This will be a close one, but I like War Eagle to come out on top with the support of the home crowd at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn will control the game with its rushing attack while slowing down the Missouri ground game.

Missouri vs Auburn spread prediction

If I think the home underdog wins outright on the moneyline, it'll be covering the spread in the process. Auburn is a little undervalued at home, having played the much tougher schedule compared to Mizzou.

Missouri vs Auburn Over/Under prediction

I lean toward the Under, even with the low total. This is a matchup of two teams that like to run the football, combined with strong defenses.

Missouri vs Auburn odds

  • Spread: Missouri -1.5 (-110) | Auburn +1.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Missouri -120 | Auburn+102
  • Over/Under: Over 43.5 (-110) | Under 43.5 (-110)
