The Michigan Wolverines will look to run their Big Ten winning streak to 10 games as they host the UCLA Bruins on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolverines are big favorites to win for a reason, but I like the Bruins to cover in my UCLA vs. Michigan predictions.

Read on for more analysis of this Valentine’s Day showdown in my free college basketball picks for Saturday, February 14.

UCLA vs Michigan prediction

UCLA vs Michigan best bet: UCLA +16 (-116)

While the Michigan Wolverines continue to roll, they aren’t coming through regularly for bettors when set as massive favorites.

Outside of a 41-point win over Penn State on February 5, the Wolverines haven’t covered as a double-digit favorite since January 2, going 1-8 ATS in such games since then.

The UCLA Bruins have been up and down in Big Ten play, but even when they lose, they’ve kept it close.

The Bruins haven’t lost by 15+ points a single time this season, and I don’t expect them to start now. I’m taking UCLA to cover.

UCLA vs Michigan same-game parlay

Michigan has a dynamic offense and plays at one of the quickest tempos in the country, so I’m expecting this game to hit the Over as UCLA is forced to keep up with the Wolverines for 40 minutes.

One man who will help the Bruins do that is senior forward Tyler Bilodeau (18.3 ppg), who has scored 18+ points in each of his last five games.

UCLA vs Michigan SGP

  • UCLA +15.5
  • Over 152.5
  • Tyler Bilodeau Over 16.5 points

Our beyond the arc SGP: Amazing Mara

This is a great time for Aday Mara to put together a revenge game, as the Michigan center transferred to the Wolverines from UCLA after last season.

Mara doesn’t even need to go above and beyond his normal numbers to hit these targets: he's scored 11+ in each of his last three games, has 10 assists in the last two contests, and is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game on the year.

UCLA vs Michigan SGP

  • Over 152.5
  • Aday Mara Over 10.5 points
  • Aday Mara Over 2.5 assists
  • Aday Mara Over 6.5 rebounds

UCLA vs Michigan odds

  • Spread: UCLA +15.5 | Michigan 15.5
  • Moneyline: UCLA +950 | Michigan -2600

He graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in Magazine Journalism and Political Science in 2003, and has covered major gambling events like the World Series of Poker in his career. Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
