The Big East Tournament concludes on Saturday at Madison Square Garden with the inevitable matchup of the two league powerhouses, the No. 2 seed UConn Huskies and the No. 1 seed St. John’s Red Storm.

The conference's finest product will tip off at 6:30 pm ET on FOX.

See why I’m targeting the Under with my UConn vs. St. John’s predictions and college basketball picks for Saturday, March 14.

St. John's vs UConn prediction

St. John's vs UConn best bet: Under 140.5 (-110)

The St. John’s Red Storm has been careening toward the Under, going 1-8 O/U in its last nine games. That can happen when you’re dominant defensively (second in adjusted efficiency in that span per BartTorvik) but struggle offensively (89th).

Dan Hurley feasted on the Red Storm’s lack of a true point guard and outside shooting in the last matchup, holding them to just 40 points on 20% shooting from the floor.

He has a strong track record of turning games into slow, defensive-oriented battles in March, when the UConn Huskies have cashed the Under in 14 of their last 18 postseason games.

St. John's vs UConn same-game parlay

Death, taxes, and Dan Hurley in March. He’s coached the Huskies to a 20-3 straight-up and 19-3-1 ATS record in postseason tournament games since 2022-23, and he’s already proved that he can solve the St. John’s puzzle in a 32-point victory last time these teams played.

One player who will be difficult to stop is Big East Player of the Year Zuby Ejiofor, who has gone for 20+ points in each of his last four games. He’s taken charge offensively, taking more field goal attempts (14) in each of the first two games of this tournament than he had in any game during the regular season.

Solo Ball has splashed 2+ triples in 11 of his last 14 contests.

Our beyond the arc SGP: Dillon's Dimes!

Rick Pitino handed Dillon Mitchell a larger role as a facilitator over the second half of the season, and he responded by averaging 4.6 assists in St. John’s last nine games.

Generating offense in the half-court proved difficult in the last matchup, so Mitchell’s craft will be needed on Saturday.
