Saint Francis vs TCU best bet: TCU -27.5 (-110)
The Saint Francis Red Flash hung tough with Oklahoma in the first half of their season opener. However, the Sooners went on a 35-3 run early in the second half and ended up winning by a final score of 102-66.
Meanwhile, the TCU Horned Frogs are coming off a 78-74 loss to New Orleans despite entering as 21-home point home faves. While losing to a school that finished with a 2-18 record in the Southland Conference last year is a bad sign, there are a few reasons TCU can bounce back with a big win tonight.
The Horned Frogs went a horrific 3-for-27 from deep against New Orleans. Positive regression should set in. More importantly, TCU will likely focus on attacking the rim, which is an area where Saint Francis can be exploited.
The Frankies allowed the Sooners to shoot 70% from 2-point range and score 54 points in the paint. Expect TCU to feed the ball inside to forwards David Punch and Xavier Edmonds, who will do damage.
It's also worth noting that TCU was outrebounded 39-28 by the Privateers, who have great size in their frontcourt. The Frogs won't be controlled on the glass by a much smaller Saint Francis squad that has a 6-foot-9 center and no other rotation player taller than 6-foot-6.
Jamie Dixon's squad always does a good job of pressuring ball handlers and forced 19 turnovers versus New Orleans. The Frankies turned the ball over 14 times against OU, which led to 22 points the other way.
This is SFU's last year in Division I before moving to Division III. The Frankies have a completely rebuilt roster under a new head coach, and there will be plenty of blowout losses this season. This will be one of them.
