The No. 13 Miami Hurricanes are the Cinderella team of the ACC Tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals and a matchup with the No. 4 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Greensboro Thursday.

Miami, which has been plagued by injuries during conference play, knocked off Pitt in Round 1 and upset No. 5 Clemson in the second round Wednesday. That momentum runs into a red-hot Yellow Jackets program that finished ACC play on a six-game winning tear (6-0 ATS).

FanDuel opened Georgia Tech as 9-point chalk and by late Wednesday night was at -9.5, where the line remains at noon ET today. But plucky Miami, already with two wins in the ACC tourney, is taking 63 percent of bets and 56 percent of money on the spread. The total moved from 138.5 to 139 and back, with 79 percent of bets/74 percent of money on the Over.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

Jim Larrañaga is working his March magic with Miami, overcoming an injury-thinned roster and a grueling tournament format to push the Hurricanes into the ACC quarterfinals

Despite going only two players deep into the bench, Miami has played with passion and energy in its opening two tournament games and enforced an up-tempo style on Clemson’s stingy defense Wednesday, firing at a near 54 percent clip from the field in the 67-64 win.

Miami may have been able to run the sleepy tempos of Pitt and Clemson out of the gym, but Georgia Tech presents a much different challenge. The Ramblin’ Wreck is averaging almost 78 points per game during their six-game winning streak, which included an 87-60 blowout of the Hurricanes as 4-point road faves in Coral Gables on February 20.

Georgia Tech star Moses Wright presents a tough task for the Canes and enters the ACC Tournament pouring in an average of 23.5 points during this six-game stretch, including efforts of 31, 29 and 26 points. The ACC Player of the Year just doesn’t fill the bucket but also has an impact on the defensive end. In those six games, he’s averaging 10 rebounds, adding eight total blocks and five steals.

The Canes started to show the wear and tear of the ACC Tournament in the closing minutes of the Clemson game, blowing a 9-point lead in the final seven minutes, including some fatigued-induced mistakes in the closing seconds that nearly gave the game to the Tigers.

I’ve been burned picking against Miami in its opening two postseason games but believe the buck stops with Josh Pastner’s program in the conference quarterfinals Thursday.

PREDICTION: Georgia Tech -9 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

While the Over has been the strong bet during the Yellow Jackets’ winning run (4-2 O/U), the defense has played a big part in this success. On the season, GT is giving up 70 points per contest but tightened its belt for only 64.3 average points allowed in those six games. They checked Miami to a mere 18 points in the opening half of their February 20 win and limited the Hurricanes to 39 percent shooting from the floor, including a 5-for-17 showing from beyond the arc.

The Jackets haven’t played since rolling Wake Forest on March 5 and that hiatus could serve to cool down the offensive production, especially with Georgia Tech posting only 69.7 average points away from McCamish Pavilion – a near 10-point dip in production when compared to its home scoring rate.

We’ve seen some sharp shooting inside Greensboro Coliseum this week, but Miami’s heavy legs will struggle to keep its success of 48.25 percent from the field in its third game in three days versus the fresh legs of Georgia Tech.

PREDICTION: Under 138 (-110)
