The NBA nightcap sees the veteran Golden State Warriors host the upstart Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, January 13.

Now, the matchup loses some of its luster with Portland’s Deni Avdija sidelined with an injury, but sportsbooks might be overvaluing him just a bit.

My Trail Blazers vs. Warriors predictions and NBA picks break down why Portland can still keep this one close without its breakout star.

Trail Blazers vs Warriors prediction

Trail Blazers vs Warriors best bet: Trail Blazers +10.5 (-110)

The Portland Trail Blazers are a surprise team for a Play-In spot in the West, thanks in part to Deni Avdija.

But they've got Jrue Holiday back, are 7-2 straight up in their last nine games, and have the confidence of already beating this Golden State Warriors team twice this season.

Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler might be playing their best basketball together, but the Warriors have had trouble stringing together wins and rank just 15th in offensive rating.

Led by Holiday, the Blazers will lock it down on the defensive end to keep this game within the 10.5-point spread.

Trail Blazers vs Warriors same-game parlay

Holiday had been out since mid-November with a calf strain, but made his return on Sunday in a 123-114 loss to the Knicks.

Holiday scored eight points and added four assists in just 16 minutes of action. With Avdija out, I expect him to get more of a run in his second game back. He was averaging 16.7 points and 8.3 assists before the injury.

If Holiday plays around 24-25 minutes, he should go Over both 10.5 points and 5.5 assists.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Holiday Play

A true from downtown approach here. Holiday looks like his best self, records a double-double, and contains Steph on the other end.
