The NBA Playoffs head into the weekend with two games on the odds board this Friday night.
A pair of pivotal Game 6 showdowns see the Cleveland Cavaliers trying to close out the Orlando Magic on the road in the 7 p.m. ET tip, while the Dallas Mavericks host the Los Angeles Clippers with a 3-2 series lead in the 9:30 p.m. ET contest.
I tie these two tilts together and give my best NBA picks and predictions for Friday, May 3.

Paolo Banchero did it all for the Orlando Magic in Game 5 but could keep his team afloat. He scored 39 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while dishing out four assists. That brings his assist prop for Game 6 down to a series-low 4.5 O/U. He’s record five assists in three of the five games against the Cleveland Cavaliers and player projections are all north of five dimes with some forecasts closer to six assists.
Luka Doncic has the Los Angeles Clippers on the ropes and remembers the 2021 postseason, in which the Dallas Mavericks blew a 3-2 lead to L.A. Luka is just 3-for-17 from distance the past two games but still forecasted for 4+ triples tonight. The Clips could have matchup issues on the perimeter with Kawhi Leonard out and Terance Mann dealing with a calf strain.
Ivica Zubac had six boards in only 25 minutes in the Game 5 blowout and Los Angeles needs his big body on the boards tonight, especially with Leonard still sidelined. The 7-footer snatched 15 and 12 rebounds, respectively, in the opening two games. Player models are calling for close to 11 rebounds as Zubac logs major minutes in Game 6 tonight.
