Cavaliers vs Pistons Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

De'Andre Hunter has a very makeable points prop as the Cavaliers' top scoring option off the bench. Cleveland has owned the Pistons of late, and that won't change tonight.

Cavaliers vs Pistons prediction

Cavaliers vs Pistons best bet: Cavaliers -2.5 (-110)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a dominant 64-win season, and have started this season on the right foot, going 2-1 through three games, most recently toppling Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in Sunday's home opener. Cleveland heads into tonight’s affair as a 2.5-point favorite, which shouldn’t be hard to cover.

Firstly, the Cavs were 3-1 against the Detroit Pistons in 2024-25, covering the spread in two of those victories, and Kenny Atkinson’s squad has won 12 of its last 13 vs. the Pistons. While Detroit has improved, this is still a team that Cleveland has completely dominated over the years.

It’s just the fourth game for the Cavs, and they're back on the road, so there’s not a ton of evidence here. But, between their brilliance against Detroit and the impressive win over the Bucks, I’ll take them to win by at least three points tonight.

Cavaliers vs Pistons same-game parlay

De'Andre Hunter was the Cavs’ top bench player last season, averaging 17 points per game. He poured in 16 points in his season debut, and he also scored Over 15.5 points in two of his three preseason appearances.

Jalen Duren is a physical presence down low, and he was key in getting the Pistons to the playoffs last season. The big man averaged 10.3 rebounds per game.

After grabbing just six boards in each of his first two games this season, Duren reeled in 18 on Sunday against the Celtics. He also averaged 11.5 rebounds against the Cavs last season.
