The Toronto Blue Jays made a statement in Game 1, but the New York Yankees have a chance to respond in Game 2 as they send their ace, Max Fried, to the mound.

Here are my top three MLB player props and Yankees vs. Blue Jays predictions for Game 2 of the ALDS on Sunday, October 5.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Game 2 props

Player BetMGM
Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 H/R/R -110
Blue Jays Max Fried Under 4.5 strikeouts +115
Blue Jays Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases -110

Yankees vs Blue Jays player prop picks

Prop #1: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBIs

-110 at BetMGM

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a miserable finish to the regular season with just three hits in his last six games and no home runs in 21 straight contests.

However, all of that was forgotten by Toronto Blue Jays fans following Game 1 of the ALDS after Guerrero Jr. recorded three hits, two RBI, and his first homer since September 5.

Guerrero Jr. looks like he finally has his swing back, and he could be poised for another big outing in Game 2 against southpaw Max Fried. Vlad hit .326 against lefties this season (.282 vs. RHP) and has had reasonable success against Fried throughout his career, going 5-for-20 with five RBI.

Guerrero Jr. was a Yankee killer all season, batting .373 with a .447 BABIP vs. New York, and that trend seems to be holding early on in this series.

Prop #2: Max Fried Under 4.5 strikeouts

+115 at BetMGM

The New York Yankees hand the ball to Max Fried for a crucial Game 2 as the left-hander looks to build upon a strong showing against the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series.

Fried held Boston off the scoreboard for 6 1/3 innings while giving up just four hits and fanning six, and he’ll be tasked with shutting down a hot Toronto offense this afternoon.

Fried had a respectable 8.7 K/9 this season, but the strikeout is not really his strength — he ranked in the 57th percentile among all starters in K% according to Baseball Savant.

The Yankees ace also didn’t fare very well against the Blue Jays this season, posting a 4.07 ERA and just 4.4 K/9 in four meetings.

Fried recorded Under 4.5 strikeouts in all four starts against Toronto this year, and I don’t see him topping that number unless he goes very deep.

Prop #3: Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases

-110 at BetMGM

The Yankees' offense came up short in Game 1 with just one run and six hits, but Aaron Judge had another successful day at the dish with a single and a double.

The reigning AL MVP has not always been the strongest playoff performer, but he’s gotten off to a strong start this postseason, batting .400 through his first four games.

Judge has racked up 2+ total bases in three of four games this postseason and has hit that number in seven of his last nine outings going back to the regular season.

He’ll need to be a factor again in Game 2 if the Yankees are going to even the series.
