Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Ian Seymour has quietly turned his season around, and he draws an ideal spot against a battered Detroit Tigers lineup tonight.
Tampa Bay is a -126 favorite, with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. ET at Comerica Park.
Seymour’s matchup edge shapes my Rays vs. Tigers predictions, which back Tampa Bay on the moneyline, lean Under the total, and target a Rays slugger to go deep.

Who will win Rays vs Tigers today: Rays moneyline (-126)
Ian Seymour gets an excellent matchup against a depleted Detroit Tigers lineup, and the Tampa Bay Rays’ recent offensive form gives the Rays enough of an edge to lay a moderate price.
Seymour’s 4.17 season ERA undersells how well he’s been throwing lately, with 44 strikeouts against just six walks over his last six starts, and four quality starts in that stretch.
Detroit is a weak matchup against a sharp lefty. The Tigers are missing Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, and Matt Vierling, and they’ve cratered to 1-9 over their last 10.
Jackson Jobe has upside and allowed just one run over 5 1/3 innings in his last outing, but he’s only a handful of starts into his return from Tommy John surgery. Tampa owns the more trustworthy offense, and I’ll lay the price.
I’d play Tampa Bay to -145.

Rays vs Tigers Over/Under pick: Under 7.5 (-107)
Detroit’s offensive struggles and Seymour’s matchup are enough to back the Under at 7.5.
Seymour has posted a 2.94 ERA over his last six outings, and the Tigers are hitting poorly against left-handers while missing several key bats, giving him a realistic path to holding them to one or two runs.
Jobe can help on the other side. He held Pittsburgh to four hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings in his last start and has gradually built up his workload since returning from surgery. If that carries over, Tampa may have to manufacture its runs rather than pile them up.
The Rays don’t need to be shut down for this to cash. If Seymour keeps Detroit quiet, scores like 4-2 or 5-2 stay firmly in play.
I’d play the Under to -110.
Rays vs Tigers home run prediction: Junior Caminero (+335)
Junior Caminero is the standout power option for Tampa, and his ability to punish four-seam fastballs sets up an excellent matchup with Jobe.
Caminero has hit 28 home runs in 416 plate appearances against right-handed pitching while slugging .540, backed by a 50.3% hard-hit rate and a 13.3% barrel rate.
Jobe’s four-seam fastball offers the best chance for a homer. He throws it roughly 40% of the time, and opponents have hit .320 and slugged .640 against it since his return. Caminero crushes that pitch, owning a .594 slugging mark and 61.6% hard-hit rate against four-seamers this season.
At +335, I’ll back Tampa’s best power bat to punish Jobe’s most vulnerable and most frequently used offering. I’d play this to +300 for a quarter unit.
