The 2026 MLB season is just a month in, but we've already seen some insane performances from the league's elite.
There’s no shortage of MLB player props to consider, and I’m targeting two hitters in the midst of a productive series.
Check out my Top 3 MLB picks for the May 3 slate.

| Over 4.5 strikeouts | +102 | |
| Over 1.5 total bases | -115 |

Pete Alonso Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (+100)
There’s something about the air in New York for Pete Alonso. The former Met has been one of the bright spots for the Baltimore Orioles in a tough series against the Yankees, and I’m backing him to do more damage today.
Alonso has thumped a solo homer in both outings at Yankee Stadium this weekend, and he’s cashed this combo Over in four of his last five contests, despite a batting average of just .205 this year.
He’s also seen plenty of New York starter Max Fried, racking up seven RBIs, with two homers, against the lefty, and he’ll get scoring opportunities hitting behind a talented Baltimore top order.

Matthew Boyd Over 4.5 strikeouts (+102)
It’s been an injury-hit start to 2026 for Matthew Boyd, but he’s still a key piece for the Chicago Cubs in an NL Central race that’s already looking tight.
I like this strikeouts prop for the Chicago lefty today against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and he’s nailed the Over on this number in three of his four starts this season — including 10 Ks in a win over the L.A. Angels on April 1.
Boyd is also boosted by a solid record against some of Arizona’s top hitters. He’s limited Nolan Arenado, Corbin Carroll, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to a combined 2-for-20 mark in prior matchups. Plus, the D-Backs only managed four hits in last night’s 2-0 loss, so the bats aren't exactly scorching.

Julio Rodriguez Over 1.5 total bases (-115)
Julio Rodriguez is a notorious slow-starter, so his early 2026 returns are encouraging for the Seattle Mariners. He’s amassed eight hits across his past four games, including two home runs and four doubles, and I’m buying into that hot streak here.
He’s served up at least two bases in three of his last four contests, and he’s hit all four of his dingers this year off left-handed pitching. That spells trouble for Kansas City Royals lefty Kris Bubic, who’s given up three or more earned runs in three of his past five outings.
Rodriguez posted a .755 OPS in April, and he could take that up a notch this month.
