It’s the final weekend before the MLB All-Star Game and we’ve got a full 15-game slate on deck.

Potential NL Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler has been on a heater and I’ll be looking for him to pile up some strikeouts tonight, while I’m also expecting Ceddanne Rafaela and Francisco Lindor to keep swinging their hot bats.

Here are my best MLB player props for Saturday, July 12.

Best MLB player props today

  • Phillies Wheeler Over 6.5 strikeouts (+110)
  • Red Sox Rafaela Over 1.5 total bases (+125)
  • Mets Lindor Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI (-154)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Saturday, July 12

Zack Wheeler Over 6.5 strikeouts (+110 at FanDuel)

After narrowly missing out on his first Cy Young Award last year, Zack Wheeler looks determined to put himself in the mix again this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies ace is coming off a complete game against the Reds last Sunday where he racked up 12 K’s while allowing just one hit – a solo home run.

Wheeler has recorded Over 6.5 strikeouts in six straight starts so the fact that we can get this prop at +110 is pretty appetizing. The right-hander also ranks third in the MLB with 148 punchouts this season and first in K/9 (11.5).

The San Diego Padres are one of the more disciplined teams at the plate, striking out just over seven times per game, but they have been in a funk of late.

Jackson Merrill (9), Manny Machado (7), and Fernando Tatis Jr. (7) have all averaged at least one strikeout per game over the past week so Wheeler should have plenty of options to prey on tonight.

Ceddanne Rafaela Over 1.5 total bases (+125 at bet365)

The Boston Red Sox are on a roll and that’s thanks in large part to Ceddanne Rafaela. The catcher came up big again on Friday night as he hit the walk-off home run over the Green Monster to give the Red Sox their eighth straight win.

Rafaela ranks among the MLB leaders in hits (11; t-3rd), batting average (.500; t-first), home runs (4; t-1st), and RBI (first) over the past week. He’s also racked up 23 total bases during that stretch with Over 1.5 total bases in eight straight outings.

The right-hitting Rafaela has done very well against right-handed pitchers this year so I like the matchup against Tampa Bay Rays starter Shane Baz. Rafaela is batting .276 vs. righties with a .323 BAbip – compared to just .250/.254 vs. lefties.

Expect him to keep riding the high of Friday’s walk-off win with another multi-base effort this afternoon.

Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI (-154 at Caesars)

The New York Mets cruised to an 8-3 win in Friday’s series opener against the Orioles as Francisco Lindor had himself another big game. The shortstop had two hits, three RBI, and scored two runs to continue his scorching hot start to July.

After batting just .204 with 10 RBI last month, Lindor has turned things around drastically as we approach the All-Star Game. Lindor, who will start in the Midsummer Classic for the first time in his career, is batting .308 in July and has already surpassed last month’s total with 11 RBI.

The Mets star has recorded Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI in seven of his last nine outings and has a favorable matchup tonight against the Kansas City Royals.

Michael Lorenzen owns a bloated 4.61 ERA to go along with a 1.30 WHIP, while he’s made just seven quality starts in 18 appearances this season.
