The Cleveland Guardians and Milwaukee Brewers begin a three-game series tonight, with a favorable matchup on the mound for the visitors.

My Guardians vs. Brewers predictions expect Cleveland to jump on Robert Gasser early amid his struggles.

Read more in my MLB picks for Tuesday, June 16.

Who will win Guardians vs Brewers today: Guardians (+138)

The Cleveland Guardians will face Milwaukee Brewers starter Robert Gasser this evening. While he's only made four starts this season, the numbers are incredibly alarming. The left-hander owns a 7.24 FIP overall, and that number jumps to 8.10 over his last two appearances.

Gasser's biggest issue is the long ball. He's given up 2.95 HR/9 so far, and the southpaw allowed four home runs in his most recent outing.

While Cleveland isn't known for elite power, Gasser's tendency to allow fly balls and home runs gives the Guardians a favorable opportunity to generate offense. He's allowed over 50% of his contact through the air over his last two starts.

On the other side, Slade Cecconi is in impressive form. He owns a 3.10 FIP over his last two outings, allowing just 0.82 HR/9 during that span. His walks are also down, and the righty is striking out nine hitters per nine innings.

Gasser's fly-ball troubles aren't going away, and Cecconi's form gives me full confidence in this pick. I'd play this to -110.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Cecconi has allowed just a 3.7% barrel rate over the last month compared to 7.9% on the season.

Guardians vs Brewers Over/Under pick: Over 8.5 (+104)

While I do expect Cecconi to limit serious damage, neither starter consistently works deep into games, often exiting around the fifth inning. That leaves plenty of innings for two shaky bullpens to navigate, creating value on a relatively modest total.

Cleveland's bullpen owns a 4.04 FIP and 4.65 xERA over the last week while walking 4.73 hitters per nine innings. Those free passes will give Milwaukee's productive offense opportunities to generate runs.

As for the Brewers, their relief corps has struggled as well, posting a 4.84 FIP over the last 14 days while surrendering 1.99 home runs and 3.18 walks per nine innings.

Cleveland will create opportunities against Gasser early, and once the bullpens take over, there are multiple paths for this game to climb beyond the total.

Play this to -110.
