The Giants bats finally broke out, but Andrew Caley's predictions explain why that won't last long in a matchup against San Diego's Nick Pivetta.

The San Francisco Giants finally saw their bats break out in a 9-3 win over the San Diego Padres, and now they’ll go for the sweep.

That will be easier said than done, however, as the Padres hand the ball to Nick Pivetta, who's dominated this Giants lineup.

My Giants vs. Padres predictions and MLB picks explain why Pivetta will lead San Diego to a win in the series finale.

Who will win Giants vs Padres today: Padres moneyline (-150)

Even with the San Francisco Giants' bats breaking out last night, this hasn’t exactly graded out as a potent lineup.

They enter tonight’s game against Nick Pivetta and the San Diego Padres ranked 26th in wRC+ and OPS through the early portion of the season.

Which means the Giants won’t be looking forward to this matchup with Pivetta. The right-hander has dominated this lineup, limiting current Giants hitters to a .202 expected batting average and a .388 expected slugging with a 31.1% strikeout rate.

With journeyman Adrian Houser going for San Francisco, I like the Padres to get the win.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Nick Pivetta allowed two earned runs and struck out 15 in his last two starts against the Giants.

Giants vs Padres Over/Under pick: Under 7.5 (+100)

The Giants' lineup isn’t the only one struggling in this matchup, however. The Padres have been ice-cold to start the season, ranking dead last in both wRC+ and OPS through their first five games of the season.

Houser isn’t going to blow anyone away, but he’s coming off a season where he pitched to a solid 3.31 ERA. Plus, he’s got some decent backup with the Giants’ bullpen ranking sixth in xFIP.

Pitching will be the story. Take the Under.

The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
