The Los Angeles Dodgers got a brilliant performance from Blake Snell in Game of the National League Championship series, and they’re looking for more of the same as they hand the ball to Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2.
The Milwaukee Brewers are countering with their best starter in Freddy Peralta, but will that be enough against Shohei Ohtani and this stacked Dodgers lineup? I’ve dug through the odds and brought you my favorite MLB player prop picks for this star-studded postseason matchup.
And for even more MLB picks for Game 2 of the NLCS, check out our Dodgers vs. Brewers predictions.

Dodgers vs Brewers player prop picks
Prop #1: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases
Freddy Peralta has faced many of the Los Angeles Dodgers over the years, and, not surprisingly, it’s Shohei Ohtani who has given him the most problems in the past.
Peralta has had an up-and-down NLDS. He allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks — including three home runs — while striking out 15 over 9 2/3 innings pitched.
That works out to a 5.62 FIP, meaning he hasn’t had his best stuff so far in the postseason. That’s not exactly where you want to be going into a matchup with Ohtani.
Shohei has been pretty quiet at the plate since the Wild Card round, but it’s unlikely a player this talented stays this quiet much longer. He basically had the loudest bat in the big leagues this season, ranking in the Top 1% of MLB hitters in expected slugging, barrel rate, and hard-hit percentage.
As noted, he’s had plenty of success against Peralta in the past. Ohtani is 3-for-9 with two home runs in his career vs. the Brewers starter, good for a .344 expected batting average and a .962 xSLG.
Getting the Over for his total bases at near even money seems like a home run tonight.
Prop #2: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 15.5 Outs
Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been one of the best pitchers in the National League all season long, but he's coming off a tough start against the Phillies.
Philly got to Yamamoto for three runs on six hits, and he struck out just two batters over four innings of work. I expect him to bounce back tonight.
Yamamoto was dealing all year long, finishing the regular season in the 94th percentile in expected ERA and the 91st in opponent expected batting average.
If Milwaukee has one little flaw, it’s the inability to hit right-handed pitching hard. The Brewers ranked 14th in slugging, 11th in OPS, and ninth in wRC+ when stepping into the box vs. righties.
Yamamoto was also a horse for the Dodgers, averaging just about 94 pitches per start. While I know starting pitchers have a shorter leash in the postseason, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has shown he is willing to let his guys go if they're effective.
He allowed Yamamoto to go 6 2/3 innings against the Reds in the Wild-Card round, while Blake Snell just went eight dominant innings in Game 1 last night.
Prop #3: Will Smith Over 0.5 RBIs
The Dodgers are reminding us of what we knew all along but might have forgotten, thanks to a relatively disappointing regular season that saw them finish with just the third-best record in the National League.
With a ridiculous starting rotation and a lineup dangerous one through nine, it feels like there is little stopping the reigning World Series champs.
Now that lineup is getting another boost as All-Star catcher Will Smith looks like he’s getting his timing back. Smith suffered a hairline fracture in his right hand in September and didn’t make his first start in the postseason until Game 3 of the NLDS against the Phillies.
For those who don’t remember, Smith hit .296 with a .901 OPS this season and ranked in the 83rd percentile in xBA and the 85th in xSLG. Now, he’s coming off a two-hit performance in Game 1 of the NLCS. This lineup is just unfair.
With Smith planted firmly in the middle of this stacked Dodgers lineup, he’ll have more opportunities than most to drive in a run tonight. At this price, it’s hard to stay away.
