The Los Angeles Dodgers return home for a three-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals beginning Monday night.

The Dodgers have been trending toward the Under and are set up well on the mound with Tyler Glasnow getting the nod in the opener.

See why my Cardinals vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB picks for Monday, August 4 are buying the Under.

Cardinals vs Dodgers prediction

My Cardinals vs Dodgers best bet: Under 8 (-110 at Caesars)

Tyler Glasnow has long been an effective starting pitcher. The issue has never been about talent — it’s been about health. The flamethrowing right-hander has made just nine starts this season but has been on point (3.38 ERA), and he appears full-go at current form.

Glasnow faces a St. Louis Cardinals lineup that has the lowest wRC+ (71) and wOBA (.268) against right-handed pitching since the All-Star break. They’ve scored more than three earned runs just three times in their last 10 away games, averaging 2.9 runs in that span.

On the flip side, the Los Angeles Dodgers have also gone cold at the plate. Their star-studded lineup has been underperforming, ranking 23rd in both wRC+ (94) and wOBA (.304) against right-handed pitching since the break.

L.A. has been a machine to the Under, going 0-9-1 O/U in their last 10 games.

Sonny Gray hasn’t been at his best lately, but he still owns an impressive 26.4% strikeout rate and 4% walk rate on the year. It helps to have an effective bullpen behind him, and the Cardinals lead MLB in ERA (2.34) and xFIP (3.17) in relief since the break.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Cardinals vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 8

Dodgers -1.5

Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases

The Dodgers hold an advantage on the mound and at the plate, and they’re tough to beat at home (35-21) while St. Louis is poor on the road (24-33).

Shohei Ohtani demolishes right-handed pitching (175 wRC+) and is 2-for-7 with a home run against Gray in his career.
