The Toronto Blue Jays may have lost their series finale against the Detroit Tigers but they're winning the war in the American League East. They're 19-5 over their last 24 games and now hold a 5.5-game lead in the division.

My Blue Jays predictions expect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Jays to stay hot as they open a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Blue Jays predictions for July 28

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Vladdy does damage

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases (+110 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to build on that lead in this series by taking advantage of a struggling Baltimore Orioles rotation.

Only the lowly Rockies starting pitchers have a higher ERA than the combined 5.07 mark of the O’s. That continues tonight with Baltimore handing the ball to Zach Eflin.

It’s been a tough season for the 31-year-old right-hander. Eflin has dealt with multiple injuries and just hasn’t been very effective when he's been on the mound. Eflin ranks in the 39th percentile in expected ERA and the 25th in expected opponent batting average.

That means he won’t be looking forward to facing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. It has gotten lost in all the winning the team has done, but the Blue Jays' star slugger is mashing baseballs again.

Vladdy is hitting a ridiculous .485 with a 1.341 OPS over his last eight games. That includes six multi-hit games and six extra-base hits.

On top of that, he’s got a pretty solid track record vs. Eflin. Guerrero is 7-for-21 with two home runs in his career vs. the O’s starter. That’s good for a .345 xBA and a .693 xSLG. So, getting Vladdy’s Over 1.5 total bases, which he’s done in six of his last eight games, at plus money is way too good to pass up.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases

George Springer Over 1.5 total bases

Zach Eflin Under 17.5 outs

The only player hotter than Vladdy on the roster has arguably been George Springer. The veteran outfielder is on yet another hot streak this season, hitting .463 with a 1.190 OPS since coming out of the All-Star break.

He’s also had solid success in his career vs. Eflin, going 4-for-16 with a double, a dinger, and a .319 xBA. Add Over 1.5 total bases for Springer, something he’s done in six straight games.

Then let’s turn our attention back to Eflin. He’s making just his second start since returning from the injured list with a back injury. His return lasted just five innings and 84 pitches despite a solid performance.

In fact, Eflin has averaged just 80.6 pitches per start this season and has only topped 90 pitches in three of 13 starts. This all adds up to a shorter outing for the O’s right-hander, add Under 17.5 outs to this SGP.
