The Toronto Blue Jays aim for a second straight win in Miami as they get set to take on Janson Junk and Co.
Junk has allowed three or more earned runs in six straight outings, where he has a 6.19 ERA while allowing 3.66 runs per start.
He ranks in the 15th percentile in xBA, while giving up hard contact as well, ranking in the second percentile in exit velocity and 9th percentile in hard hit rate.
This all plays into the hand of the Blue Jays, who are an aggressive contact hitting group that can also mash and shouldn’t have troubles getting to Junk.
The Blue Jays’ offense is one of the best in the league, ranking third with a 113 WRC+, while boasting the best batting average in baseball, while scoring 4.9 runs per game.
I anticipate the Jays getting to Junk early, going over his posted total of 2.5 for a seventh consecutive start.

For the second leg of the SGP, I’ll continue to fade Junk by taking the Over on hits allowed this afternoon. His posted total is 5.5, which he’s gone over in five of his last six outings.
He also pitches to contact and the Jays produce more contact than any other team in the league with the best batting average in baseball.
For the final leg, let’s take Daulton Varsho to go Over 0.5 RBI. If the Jays are going to put up offense, might as well pair it with an underpriced value leg.
I'm expecting crowded base paths this afternoon, which should work out well for Varsho, who sits in the five-hole and owns a .995 OPS against righties this season with all 22 of his extra base hits coming off them.
