NRFI/YRFI bets for June 17

Mets at Braves: YRFI (Play at ProphetX)

The New York Mets have the fourth-most NRFI in the majors and currently hold the longest scoreless first-inning streak at a modest three.

This streak will end as they face the Atlanta Braves, who are on the other end of the first-inning scoring spectrum, seeing it happen 46% of the time.

New York starter David Peterson has seen a first-inning run plate in three of his last five starts, two courtesy of his team staking him to an early lead.

It’s been almost automatic early scoring for Atlanta’s Spencer Schwellenbach, who has had a YRFI in six of his last seven outings.

He’s been tagged three times, and his team has supported him in three others.

Angels at Yankees: YRFI (-118 at ProphetX)

Through four head-to-head matchups between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels, a YRFI has happened twice, and the pitching matchup entertains it happening for a third time.

Kyle Hendricks has a 5.20 ERA, and he’s allowed at least four earned in three of his last five starts.

New York counters with Will Warren, and he’s coming off a great start, going 5 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing just four hits in an eventual 1-0 win over the Royals.

However, that’s the only start in his last four that a first-inning run hasn’t plated, as he’s been tagged twice for six earned runs in two of those starts, with the Bombers setting him up with a lead in the other.

Orioles at Rays: YRFI (Play at ProphetX)

The Baltimore Orioles are tied for the longest active YRFI streak in the bigs at three.

The Tampa Bay Rays have seen a first-inning run in 26 of 44 home games this season, a healthy 59% clip.

Baltimore starter Dean Kremer has seen a first-inning run plate in one of his last three starts, but he’s carrying a hefty 4.99 ERA for the season and a 6.57 ERA in June after the Tigers tagged him for four runs and the Athletics hung five on him.

Rays righty Zack Littell has been solid over the last six weeks, going 5-1 over his last eight starts, but a first-inning run has plated in three straight starts, and six of his previous eight.
