Red Sox vs Mariners Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

Garrett Crochet is one of MLB's preeminent strikeout artists, and the Mariners are a fairly strikeout-heavy lineup. Expect the Red Sox ace to carve up this offense en route to at least eight Ks.

Boston Red Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet is one of the best pitchers in the game and draws a Seattle Mariners lineup prone to striking out.

My Red Sox vs Mariners predictions dive into why I’m eyeing him to bring his swing and miss stuff in today's rubber match.

Red Sox vs Mariners prediction

My Red Sox vs Mariners best bet: Garrett Crochet Over 7.5 strikeouts (-140 at bet365)

Boston Red Sox fans may be furious due to the Rafael Devers trade, but at least they still have a bona fide ace leading their rotation in Garrett Crochet. The left-hander has been all Boston could’ve imagined — and more — after coming over in an offseason trade. He’s 6-4 with a 2.24 ERA in 15 starts.

Crochet has struck out 117 hitters in just 96 1/3 innings of work while issuing only 28 free passes. The southpaw is electric, and he’ll have a chance to rack up the Ks today, as the Seattle Mariners are fifth in team strikeouts, and he’s collected 17 of them in 47 at-bats against this Seattle lineup.

Also, Crochet has cashed the Over in three of his last four appearances, hitting double-digit Ks twice. Crochet still finished with seven Ks in his most recent start against the New York Yankees.

His stuff is even more elite on the road, too, picking up 70 punchouts in 54 innings away from Fenway Park, with opponents hitting under .200.

The lefty will continue to dominate this afternoon at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park.

Red Sox vs Mariners same-game parlay (SGP)

Garrett Crochet Over 7.5 strikeouts

Randy Arozarena Over 0.5 hits

Luis Castillo Over 1.5 earned runs

While Crochet has dominated most of this M’s lineup, Randy Arozarena has had success against him. The Cuban is 3-for-4 with a home run and three walks in this matchup.

Arozarena is also hitting .280 versus left-handers in 2025.

Luis Castillo is 4-4 with a 3.29 ERA in 14 starts, with opponents hitting just .245. I would’ve taken Castillo for the Under in earned runs here because of his consistency, but 1.5 is too low of a total.

The righty has surrendered Over 1.5 earned runs in three of his last four outings. Yes, he’s held this Boston lineup to a .129 average, but they were also just shut out 8-0 on Tuesday. I expect the Red Sox to bounce back here and score some runs off him.
