The Dodgers' and Padres' lineups are set to have a field day in a pitching matchup that shouldn't instill much confidence in Under bettors.

The Dodgers are riding a three-game win streak and look to keep it rolling as they face off against the Padres tonight in L.A.

For my Padres vs. Dodgers predictions, I’m eyeing the Over with Randy Vasquez and Matt Sauer set to square off on the mound—this matchup screams offense.

Check out the full breakdown in my MLB picks for June 17.

Padres vs Dodgers prediction

My Padres vs Dodgers best bet: Over 9.5 (-119 at DraftKings)

The Los Angeles Dodgers sport a 43-29 O/U record this season, including going Over the total in 17 of their previous 23 home games.

The lineup appears to be in fine shape after plating at least five runs in each of their last three games — all wins — for an average of 7.3 per game.

Tuesday brings a matchup with Randy Vasquez of the San Diego Padres. While the 26-year-old’s 3.57 ERA may look pretty, don’t let that fool you.

Nearly every underlying metric is a concern, from his 5.91 xERA to his 5.35 FIP to his .275 xBA. The righty issues too many free passes (11.9% walk rate), doesn’t make batters miss (13.9% K rate), and allows a decent amount of hard contact. Vasquez sports a Pitching+ of 94 that does not inspire confidence.

On the flip side, L.A. is dealing with a plethora of injuries in the rotation, so Dave Roberts is opting for swingman Matt Sauer for Game 2 of the series.

The big righty sports a career 6.48 ERA across 41 2/3 frames in the Big Leagues, ranking in the ninth percentile in xBA, the fifth percentile in whiff rate, and the 18th percentile in K rate. L.A.’s bullpen is also taxed after using Shohei Ohtani as an opener on Monday.

Padres vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Shohei Ohtani Over 2.5 total bases

Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 total bases

Over 9.5

These teams tend to get into high-scoring games when playing each other, averaging 9.7 total runs per game across their last 10 meetings. If runs come in bunches again, L.A.’s big bats are likely to play a factor.

Vasquez has struggled against lefties with a career .306/.390/.504 slash line, and Los Angeles has two star left-handed bats. I’m targeting both of them to exceed their respective total bases props in a smash matchup.

Shohei Ohtani has a 197 wRC+ against RHP while Freddie Freeman isn’t far behind with a 181 wRC+.
