NRFI/YRFI bets for June 21

Rangers at Pirates: YRFI  (-108 at ProphetX)

This game pits two of the stingiest YRFI teams in the majors, with the Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates in the Top 6 of NRFIs.

However, the Rangers are riding a YRFI streak that’s the longest in baseball right now at four games, which continued into the opener of this series Friday.

Kumar Rocker starts for the Rangers, and a first-inning run has been plated in four of his last five starts. Mitch Keller gets the call for Pittsburgh, and he’s gone 0-7 in his previous nine starts, with an ERA of 5.40 in June.

Keller has seen a first-inning run in three of his last five starts.

Mets at Phillies: NRFI  (+127 at ProphetX)

A pair of NL East rivals collide in PA, where the Philadelphia Phillies are riding an MLB-best four NRFI wins in a row.

They’re battling the New York Mets, who’ve run two straight NRFIs and rank inside the Top 5 most no-run first innings in the Majors.

New York starter Griffin Canning is coming off a scoreless first inning in his latest start, breaking a streak of three straight YRFIs. Meanwhile, Phillies' starter Mick Abel is making his fifth career start and has just one YRFI outing so far.

The Mets and Phillies have played four times this season, and in the last two games, both have seen a scoreless first frame.

Guardians at Athletics: NRFI  (+101 at ProphetX)

The Athletics have seen a lot of first-inning runs plated in their home games so far this year, a whopping 23 of 39 for a 59% clip. However, they’re running a modest 2-game NRFI streak, and reliever-turned-starter Mitch Spence is a good candidate to keep it at that.

He’s pitched at least five innings and allowed one run or fewer in each of his first three starts. Luis Ortiz will go for the Cleveland Guardians, who are baseball’s top NRFI team, seeing first-inning zeroes in 46 of 73 games (63%).

Ortiz has seen a YRFI in just one of his last four starts, but that was his team staking him to a lead after the opening frame.
