The Kansas City Royals enter Saturday’s matchup against the San Diego Padres riding a four-game winning streak, capped by a 6-5 win in Friday night’s series opener.

For my Royals vs. Padres predictions and best MLB picks for June 21, I’m backing Kansas City to stay hot and clinch the series win.

My Royals vs Padres best bet: Royals moneyline (+140 at BetMGM)

The Kansas City Royals' bats have woken up, plating six runs in three of their last four contests, all victories.

Bobby Witt Jr. and Maikel Garcia have been at the forefront of the Royals' offensive renaissance. Witt has eight hits in his last 23 at-bats (.348), while Garcia is 10-for-24 (.417) over the last week.

K.C. tackles San Diego Padres SP Dylan Cease tonight, and he's far off the form that saw him finish fourth in the Cy Young voting a year ago.

Cease was just tagged for six runs by the Dodgers on June 16, marking the fifth time in his last six starts he's allowed three or more earned runs. Backing him is a bullpen that owns a solid but unspectacular 4.20 xFIP over the last two weeks.

The Royals appear to have a major edge in the pitching department with Noah Cameron getting the call. He's allowed one earned run or fewer in six of his first seven starts in 2025, pitching at least six innings on five occasions.

K.C.'s bullpen owns a respectable 3.80 xFIP over the last 14 days.

Royals vs Padres same-game parlay (SGP)

Royals moneyline

Noah Cameron Under 2.5 earned runs allowed

Maikel Garcia Over 0.5 hits

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 0.5 runs

The Royals should prevail at a nice price with the edge in starting pitching. Cease continues to struggle in 2025, and the lefty Cameron should contain the Padres' 21st-ranked lineup by OPS vs. southpaws.

Garcia's bat is hot, and he brings a .348 road batting average into this tilt.

Witt has crossed the plate in five straight affairs, twice via the home run.
