The Boston Red Sox aim to continue their hot streak when they host the Houston Astros for the second game of their weekend series.

Jarren Duran has been a well-rounded offensive force since the All-Star break, and my Astros vs. Red Sox predictions expect the outfielder to keep swinging a hot bat at Fenway.

Astros vs Red Sox prediction

My Astros vs Red Sox best bet: Jarren Duran Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-110 at bet365)

The Boston Red Sox eked out a 2-1 win over the Houston Astros in extra innings last night. Roman Anthony hit a walk-off single in the 10th to help the Sox improve to 5-1 over their last six contests.

Although it was a relatively quiet night for Jarren Duran, who went 1-for-4 at the plate with a double, the Red Sox outfielder still managed to extend his hit streak to seven games.

Since returning from the All-Star break, Duran paces all Red Sox batters in runs scored (10) and RBI (10), while his 14 hits trail only Anthony (15) for the team lead. Duran has also eclipsed 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI in six of his last nine games.

According to THE BAT X projections, Duran ranks in the 97th percentile in opposite-field rate on his flyballs (39.4%). That bodes well for the left-handed hitter at Fenway, where he could benefit from an extra-base hit or two thanks to the Green Monster.

Astros vs Red Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Jarren Duran 2+ hits + runs + RBI

Roman Anthony 2+ hits + runs + RBI

Red Sox -1.5

I’ll double up on the H+R+R prop as I look for Anthony to have another productive outing at the plate. The 21-year-old has cashed this prop in six straight games and is batting .326 since the All-Star break.

The Red Sox are 5-1 in their last six contests, while the Astros have trended the opposite way, going 2-6 over their last eight. Houston has scored three runs or fewer in all six of those losses, so the Astros will struggle to keep up with one of the best offenses in the majors.
