What time does the Preakness Stakes start?
The first race at Laurel Park, the temporary home of the Preakness Stakes while Pimlico undergoes renovations, goes off at 10:30 a.m. ET. But for those who'd rather sleep in or just wait until the main event (Race 13), the 2026 Preakness Stakes will start at 7:01 p.m. ET.
What time does the Preakness Stakes end?
You've probably heard the Kentucky Derby referred to as the "Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports." Well, the Preakness is just a bit shorter than the Derby (1 3/16th-miles vs. 1 1/4-miles), so you can expect the winner to cross the wire less than two minutes after the starting gate springs open.
The 2026 Preakness Stakes will end at about 7:03 p.m. ET, assuming there are no delays.
How to watch the Preakness Stakes
The easiest way to watch the 151st Preakness Stakes is on traditional broadcast TV. The race will air live in the United States on NBC, with additional coverage earlier in the day on NBCSN and Peacock.
You can also live stream the Preakness on Peacock and Fubo.
