 I think he got too cocky, as I have done on several occasions when I go on mini-runs.  He had nothing financially invested in the contest, and another guaranteed 30K or so would have been huge.  

 But it was one hell of a run by him.  

I think you and the other hedgers have beaten this to death,  He didn't hedge, get over it.  When you get past 21 wins (lol) you can hedge all you want and tell us all about it.  OK?  Good.  

PS - Make sure you tell him 10 more times why he should have hedged, we cant wait to hear about it.

The best part is all the know-it-alls tell him to hedge at 19, then 20, then after 21 hedge a little at 22 and 23 until you hit 24 and then hedge big.  If he listened to all of you he would have already hedged and lost about 20K before tonight;'s game even started.  

Next time you are at the casino make sure you go around telling all the winners to leave and guarantee the winnings.  

To be honest I would have probably hedged 25k to win either 50, 75 or get a miracle middle but you know what HE DID NOT WANT TO !!!  Let it GO

nope. even thought you want me to regret it so badly, i don't. as i've said in the past, my college degree is in finance and i work for a multinational corporation that hedges 100 different commodities. i know the concept, i know the benefits. i don't believe in it under these circumstances, and i don't regret not hedging for one moment. if all the people tailing me that believe in my picks lose money, i want to lose money with them, and that's what happened. i WOULD regret it if all the people tailing me tonight had lost money and i was sitting at home smiling with a drink in my hand because i made guaranteed money before the game ever started. money comes in, and it goes out. integrity and loyalty stick around, and i'm glad i feel fine about those things rather than feeling sh!tty about my guaranteed hedge bet.

This is true of most every game. If you look at the Alabama-Ohio St. game, there were two plays before halftime that allowed Ohio St. to even have a chance. First one was the pass interference on Bama where the defender had an EASY pick-six, but instead decided to run straight through the back of the receiver instead of stepping to the side and running the other way to the house. That would have made it 28-6 late second quarter, and given OSU a total of six points with three possessions inside the ten. The next was the dropped third down pass that gave Ohio St. the ball back with just enough time to run that fake play with the unbelievable pass from a wide receiver and the unbelievable catch to finish it off. without those two plays, the game is likely 28-6 or worse at the half, and OSU is limiting their inexperienced QB the rest of the game because he has made mistakes when they've opened up the playbook for him. there are always opportunities in every game that would change the outcome. the teams that take advantage of their opportunities (OSU) pick up the win; the teams that do not (BAMA) take the loss. no excuses for me tonight. it may be the only half of the season that golden state doesn't hit a three. doesn't matter. i made the pick for a reason, and that reason turned out to be unsound. it's a loss, and i'll take responsibility for it the same as i would if chicago had come out and won by 30.

i will be honest. i don't know that i would have taken the game if i knew bogut was out. that being said, when i took the game, i didn't know jimmy butler was out. again, i didn't take the game because bogut was a nightmare matchup for anyone on chicago's roster. i didn't take the game because jimmy butler was out. i took the game because i thought chicago would lost their legs in the second half due to the recent schedule, and that didn't happen. they were down double digits in the second half, and they came back and won. if they were fatigued, if they had less energy than golden state, they either didn't show it or they weathered the storm in spite of it, and i give them all the credit in the world for doing so. that is a tremendous win and cover on the road given their recent slate of games. i was wrong, chicago was great tonight, and that's all there is to it.

Congrats on the amazing streak Brackson -- and in such a short time accomplishing it!  Yes, you could go another 100 years and never get to 20 even. It's such a random event that you never know, however. I really liked your Portland pick and was hoping they would play the following night, but mother nature is the final decider, so I guess it wasn't meant to be for whatever reason. But you are the type of guy who should have won it though. Your post, in defeat, says it all... I've seen so many arrogant jerks over at ESPN's game -- they think they're God's gift to the forum with their winning streak that they never acknowledge any of their supporters rooting them on. 

Enjoy that 25k -- and take that special wife out for a nice night out on the town!    

There is no  amount of money in this world that can come close to the affect you have on people through a simple contest. I wish I could just get to 10 wins in a row let alone 24 wins. I don't even think the greatest cappers who ask for money can even say they've done that and that's their profession.

I wish you, wifey and the doggies the best of luck. You have proved to us all that there is still hope in getting at least $25k in a free contest. I hope everyone understand that. You didn't spend thousands of $$$ on Lottery tickets you got $25K for clicking a few buttons and reading some notes. "That's insane!!!!"

Hey Boss, Just wanted to say a couple things, like you havent heard/read enough already. 1. I watched the game from a different location so spent the last couple hours catching up on the thread, I read slow, @ halftime, I felt we were in trouble, but because I have been so fortunate to have tailed a couple of your earlier plays and made out well, I stayed the course and held onto hope until it just looked dead. I gotta admit, it still hurt. 2. I am happy that you and yours are content with the experience and all. 3. I am not going to preach, however, in the future with alot of money on the line, if you

choose to, just say to everyone, listen folks, I am hedging this bet because, it is in fact alot of money, you have forfilled your obligations morally and ethically as an upstanding capper. There is no shame in taking half a loaf and saying Thank You. Professional Gamblers and Investors do it all the time, that is why so many people kept begging the question.  4.
