Bored at work today, so gonna lay a little on the soccer games. I see the Columbus Crew game listed at +153 now on Pinnacle. Just wondering if games usually jump that much in soccer, or if I'm looking at the wrong line? It's listed under 1X2

Wow, that Anderlecht line is jumping all over the place.. tried to lock it in 4 times and the line changed from -136 to -151 to -161 then -159.

I'll wait an see if it comes back down over the next 10 minutes before it begins. Soccer fanatics are nuts with their wagering!

Soccer odds do move around, but the Columbus game is not the correct odds, it might be handicap -1, that seems more to fit the odds.

The Columbus play isn't a 'real' play... they're playing 'Joe Public' which I  have faded once before and won, so I'm going for a second time. I didn't cap the game at all... Should have mentioned that but if I have money on it, then I'm posting it.

Ok, cool. Well it doesn't start until tonight, so I'll see how the early games go an then make a play if I'm up. Good 1st Halfs from Anderlecht and Young Boys.

I'm impressed that 1) You follow these Leagues and 2) You can cap the games.

I know absolutely nothing about these teams. Can't pronounce half of them and have absolutely no idea where on the map you would find them! If they start making me money, I might learn! HaHa

 

I'm unimpressed with all other sports at the moment... I'm still not giving capping all I can. This was a lot easier in the summer without school.

I've already locked in the Columbus bet myself but I'd advise anyone who hasn't to just avoid it. Columbus is already through to the knockout-stage whereas Joe Public is playing at home and would like to get some points before exiting the champions league. Although JP has some injuries and suspensions to deal with, Columbus will be resting basically everyone. Joe Public sucks but I think they get a lucky win/draw here tonight.

I woke up too late for Young Boys and Anderlecht. I hate you.

Friggin 0-0 in the Leverkusen game.  What was the Over/Under there, .25?  Are 0-0 ties in soccer something that happens often?  I can't believe that neither team can score for over 90 minutes.  That must be terrible to watch in person, or on TV tbfh.

Usually but not necessarily. Depends on the quality of the football. The end results of goals can be a simple culmination of an awesome attacking move. In European cup ties the games can be more tactical, especially when the better team travels and may be content for a single point. There's good value in draws in soccer, for sure, even scorecasting 0-0 or 1-1 instead of taking the "draw" line.

24 games today: 11 went over 2.5 total goals (46%) and only 3 of them were 0-0 draws; don't disrespect the game that just made your wallet fatter. It's a game of strategy and all-around athleticism, and sometimes teams come to a stalemate. There aren't too many 0-0 draws that weren't exciting. It's like watching a nailbiter in football, a 1-1 duel in baseball or an awesome goalie matchup in hockey; each has it's own place in their respective sports.

three 1-1 draws
one 3-3 draw

It would make sense to bet the 'scorecast' instead of the draw if it pays twice as good. Seems like most draws would fall on 0-0 or 1-1 so if you take a normal 'draw line' bet and split it into two on 0-0 and 1-1, it would be basically the same so whatever pays better is best.

A couple guys on another forum were picking ties based on the total and the spread in the game. Any total at 2 and a pk spread, take the draw or whatever. Worked for a bit, people played it on and off. I use it to tip me off on some ties for sure, it's a good angle.

I didn't mean to disrespect it, sorry if it sounded that way.  It's really something that I've hardly -ever- watched, except for a few World Cup matches.  I don't know enough about the game to draw a conclusion about it

And I can see the parallel between a 0-0 pitchers duel into the 9th inning, and a 7-7 OT game in the NFL.  I guess it's just something that I don't comprehend as well since I'm not an active follower
