Exactly why I took them... In that situation, teams should be like +160 right? Well if you go back through the years, hockey is the one sport where B2B rarely hurts a team (unless their backup is horrendous) so I like the Coyotes. Ottawa may be desperate for this win but Phoenix is a much better team and could easily get a W tonight. Don't have too much time so I'll leave it at that; but remember boys, I don't make winning wagers, I make value wagers. Not all of them are going to win so you might as well give up on the whole 'winning' thing. Pick your spots where you know you have value and mathematics will take care of the rest.

On that note, I could fade Miami every game this season and be up at the end. The public is in love with them already and every line will be inflated by 2-4 points. I assume this is why you tail people smdio because you're too much in love with the public teams and therefore you lose with them too... Just an assumption though. GL today guys.

Was all ready on both your hockey picks tonight and with the Celtics, should be fun to watch. I agree with the value in Phoenix and they are definitely the much better team. If they were favored at -110 I wouldn't have had as much interest in them tonight.

Public is definitely in love with the Heat this year. Fortunately, I'm not a fan of James or Bosh so I'll have no trouble taking the points against them this year when it looks good. Game could go either way tonight, but I'll be cheering hard for Boston!

But at least I, compared to most gamblers, am able to recognize my fault, and use it to my advantage by instead listening to people (like yourself) that can actually cap games, instead of losing all my money trying to myself

I'm not faulting you at all smdio. I agree, some people don't have the time and/or the skills to cap successfully so why not tail? For me personally, it's a hobby of mine so I enjoy doing it. That, and I also don't know if I can lay money on something I haven't researched myself so even when I tail, I've capped it myself after.

I wish there were more successful cappers to tail... I haven't found too many.

Both you and TheThinker are impressive in my opinion.  I don't just "blindly" tail anyone.  I actually read your posts up until the time you came here in 2009.  This was before I even signed up

And TheThinker has a mechanical system which is really good for ML wagers on dogs.

I appreciate your hard work and willingness to share your recommendations. You have mastered the technique of obtaining true odds in these sporting events. Some of us ( myself included ) are clueless when it comes to trying to figure out the mathematical advantage. That is your forte and I am grateful that you share these things on this site.

Ever think of selling picks dj ?

I have thought about it and will be doing so eventually but not for a couple years... I have two partners and we are in the process of setting up our betting consortium. It's going to be a mutli-faceted organization but it won't be tied to the dj_destroyer name... Instead, we're going to run free for a year to gain a background/reputation in all sports and then start charging a very reasonable fee. Right now, we're still setting up business liscenses and looking for web developers.

I want to become a real professional before I tout myself as one which means I will most likely need to move to Vegas... Although I also kind of want to blaze my own path and really Destroy the Books which no one has managed to do IMO.

I want to be that guy that hits at 60% clip every season and moves lines upon the release of his picks.

I will likely keep residencies in both places to take advantage of both Pinny and Vegas but these are still (very) long-term goals... I also have a few other (more scholarly) goals in life too but if I can make a living out of sports betting, how can I say no? I feel like I have a knack for it and I've been proving it to myself over the last two years; I just want to get a few more years under the belt and really figure things out. But you guys are right, finishing my degree is number one because it will be way harder to come back and finish it later in life so I might as well just get it out of the way.

Receiving your “ sheep skin “ is an accomplishment that they can never take away from you regardless of what you personally end up doing with it. I am guessing you are either attending  McGill University or  the University of Windsor which are both great instittuitions..
