Serious Streak Survivor Strategies

Currently up to my longest streak in on again/off again playing over 20 plus years. I was fortunate enough to win a weekly prize in one of the races (went 24-4) to win a hat/hoodie/coffee mug. Maybe I wasn’t paying as much attention in the past as I do now, but it seems the system is having more issues with grading and keeping track of wins/losses than in previous years. Still, all in all, it’s free, and there’s always that chance at getting hot for 30 days.

One thing I’d like to add is that years ago participants would point out errors (both positive and negative) in their contests. The vast majority these days will not do that if it hurts their standings in contests. 

To your point, I'm 16-13 in September after 28 days after being gifted a phantom win by Covers somewhere along the way which sheepishly I did not report, not that it matters. Monday Night Football was as usual totally unpredictable as David slew Goliath, and a confident and determined Bears dog upset an apparently not "up" for the game Eagles fav. User Trapiote lost his 18 and I my measly 2.

Anyway, Red Sox/Yankees tonight, I mean it doesn't get any better than that. I'm going with playoff veteran Houston to beat upstart White Sox. Plus NHL hockey opens this evening, so it's just a great day in sports for all of us.

 AGREED And here is the first suggestion, when you WIN your 18th pick by a firkin half point, you definatly should NOTY rush to make your 19th pick on a Monday Night Prim Time game picking the favorite:(

So I would think you have to get at least between 9=16 streak before you can do anything. I luv that covers does this. I think if you get to the 11th play lol big if, you can bet 10$ and keep doubling if streak continues. Forgive me if Im wrong play 17 you woukd ideally be betting 640$ with Sportsbook. So if streak continues you win 360$ if it loses 320$. Patience is always a huge factor 1 play a day is tough. That is really all I can come up with. Here is the thing if you are running off 5 or 6 victories in a row you are good. Disciplined is huge factor and I do not fall under that category. I'm the person that starts laying 10$ on otherside at 5?? not doing the math.  Honestly if you really like a play lock it. I will talk to everyone on 23rd!????

That's a very good post. I have read it several times to fully understand what you are saying, but you (Lucknuts) have a 4 in football and 6 of 7 correct overall so obviously a learned user. Dodgers/Braves is the key matchup today with Yamamoto vs Sale. I'm taking Dodgers simply on their reputation, not because it's a good pick. Canadian Proline gamblers might take a peek at Florida vs Los Angeles in hockey today to be overtime, since Florida's 1st 3 games this season have all gone to overtime, and Kings had by far the most overtime games in NHL last year (2025/2026).

Let's take a look at some serious s__t here. -1.5 has done well in football recently which suggests Bears to cover on the road today, Sunday, but admittedly, I am not a big NFL person. In NHL hockey today, Sunday, Seattle Kraken at Washington Capitals: the last 8 head-to-head games have all been under 6.5 which Covers lists as the total. So I am taking under for my pick, and hopefully we get Joey Daccord vs Logan Thompson playing nets. Of serious note, Kraken's last 3 games have gone over 6.5 (not good for me) and Washington has a mixed bag of totals which is okay. So which is more important? head-to-head in hockey totals or recent history. I guess we'll know when today's game is complete.

I don't think there is anyway to "get them to unlock a game from yesterday". Sometimes they immediately credit you with win or loss, and you can happily look for a new pick right away. Other times there is considerable delay in "unlocking" a game from yesterday to allow you to look for a new pick. In your case your NBA pick was apparently locked long enough that you couldn't make a pick on October 15 which is a shame and very frustrating for you I am sure considering you are on page 1. But it's a free site, I love Covers.com, so I am not going to complain about anything. By the way, DODGERS ARE GONE IN 4, yip, yip, yip, yipeeee!!! Let's go Brewers, Rays and Indians!

It's kinda funny. The two streak leaders on the board now are not even playing now.

Always wanted a cover cap or hoodie.

I never got anything for the 9-in-a-row streak (summer 2025), and the Covers team never replied when I asked for the cap for the 9-in-a-row achievement.

Been playing since 2007, and 9 is the longest streak I have ever had. 

Going into today, I stand at: 469-490

Since it is a free contest, I can't complain

At least now I know not to expect anything if or when I get another lucky streak going.

Apparently a "leave of absence" is allowed by Covers.com, if you request it, which explains 2 leaders of Streak Leaderboard not picking for a while (now 1 person). Weird but even weirder or more weird, there are 4 top users in monthly who always make the same pick, so a "family affair" or 1 guy with 4 accounts but strange nevertheless.  

7.5 totals in Avalanche vs Devils, wow! With Scott Wedgewood, a former Devil and Devil's draft pick, between the pipes for Colorado in front of a New Jersey crowd, the under looks like a gift here. But obviously they must know what they are doing???

I'm picking Rays to win Game #2 of World Series, Drew Rasmussen vs Logan Henderson, both are righties. Tampa Bay could have and even should have won Game #1. They match up very well against Milwaukee, which obviously the Dodgers did not. Rays are a cocky, confident bunch and certainly going down 2 games to 0 would entail winning 4 of the last 5, an extremely difficult task although not impossible.

Oops, sorry; my pick is Milwaukee, but I'm placing beaucoup de bucks on Tampa Bay.
