How's everyone doing today?! It's a brand-new week, and we've got some college football games on the board that fit my criteria! I'm excited to share my research and see how this week plays out.
For those of you who are still getting to know me, I'll take college football over the NFL any day of the week! This is where I feel most comfortable, and I believe doing your own homework, digging into the matchups, and finding the right edges can make all the difference in the long run.
As always, nothing is guaranteed, but I trust my research and the process behind my selections.
With that being said, let's cut to the chase!

UMass Minutemen -2.5 (HUGE TARGET)

WHY??? YOU KNOW IT!
The biggest edge I see in this matchup is UMass' DEFENSE, and it's not particularly close.
The Minutemen allow nearly 99 fewer yards and 14 fewer points per game than Ball State, including just 181.9 passing yards. That's a significant difference between these two defensive units, and it's where I believe UMass has the clearest advantage.
Offensively, both teams are fairly comparable, but UMass averages 4.5 more points per game. With an experienced dual-threat quarterback in Pop Watson III, assuming he's healthy, the Minutemen have another dimension that Ball State will need to account for.
Ball State has some capable playmakers, particularly quarterback Keldric Luster and running back TJ Horton. However, my concern is whether their defense can consistently make enough stops to keep them competitive.
Bottom line: I'm not seeing a major separation in offensive talent. What separates these teams for me is defensive reliability. UMass has been considerably more consistent on that side of the football, and that's the edge I'm putting the most weight on in this matchup.
GIVE ME THE MINUTEMEN AND AN ICE COLD BABY! 
PS: There is no EDGE found between CMich VS EMich. Injuries at QB for both teams also makes it harder to find an edge. Good luck everyone your bets today.
